Cure My Desire feat. Clementine Douglas

Simply an iconic track from Swiss brothers Mandrax and Seb K aka Shakedown, 'At Night' is one of the most recognisable house tracks of the last two decades. With one of the most-hyped remixes of the year, artist of the moment Peggy Gou has seriously delivered with a squelching 7 minute groover, bringing in that iconic synth motif to lift the production and keep it rolling.

Frequent collaborators Jansons and Dope Earth Alien join forces once more on ‘Hypnotic’. After meeting through the London house scene, the pairing released smash hits ‘Switch’ and ‘Medicine’, gaining huge support from the likes of Honey Dijon, The Martinez Brothers, Jamie Jones and Danny Howard. 

Jansons’ precise, synth-based sound is the perfect match for Dope Earth Alien’s 90s hip-hop and RnB inspired vocals, and this unique blend of styles is on display again for ‘Hypnotic’. As the old skool, upbeat track unfurls, Dope Earth Alien’s vocals pull focus as Jansons’ understated production supports with electrifying persistence.

I was in the UK last year after a massive summer of touring, caught the train down to Brighton with some friends, and ended up in an incredible studio overlooking the beach. I was missing home a bit, but feeling really inspired and wanted to write a feel-good record, reminding myself of the importance of saving time for the ones I care and love. Whilst (In the studio) overlooking the same site Fatboy Slim hosted his ‘Big Beach Boutique’, I was thinking about the UK’s dance music history, it inspired me, and decided to lean into the idea of writing something that sounds sampled, but isn't. I often like to write records completely on my own, but it feels so perfect to have written this one alongside some good pals — Clementine Douglas, Caitlin Stubbs & Toby Scott.

To celebrate its 25th anniversary, Defected Records presents a series of extra special collaborative releases Together, integrating talent from the label’s storied past and the stars of its future. One of the OG Defected House Masters, Dennis Ferrer’s relationship with the iconic London label is checkpointed by a vast number of innovative originals, guiding house through many eras from soul and gospel to Afro and techno. Now renowned as one of the instantly recognisable anthems of modern house and the Defected catalogue, ‘Hey Hey’ receives two Afro house remixes from Jack Back and Da Capo & Kitty Amor. One of electronic music’s most recognisable artists, David Guetta created the Jack Back alias to return to his house roots, releasing the chart-topping Defected hit ‘(It Happens) Sometimes’ in 2018. His remix of Dennis Ferrer’s classic has been widely teased in his sets, including a DJ Mag livestream which resulted in a tidal wave of fan support; now the French titan presents the hotly anticipated ‘Hey Hey’, complete with pitched percussion steering us towards moments of tension and smooth, deep release. Up next on the package, South African producer Da Capo joins forces with a pioneer of the burgeoning UK Afro house scene, Mahaba Music label boss Kitty Amor. Together the pair create an unmissable take on the classic, presenting a brooding ‘Hey Hey’ that unfurls slowly to reveal growling, electronic rhythms that slice through the sound system with tenacity.

There can´t be a better mix! Our seventeenth release is signed by this house master, who has hard-earned the respect of the scene by his contribution to music during the last 20 years. Jacking house and tribal percussions are the choosen weapons by Syrossian and that´s exactly what you´ll find in “Time” and “Back In The Day”. One of Italy’s brightest dance talents Marco Faraone teams up with rising star of the scene Greeko on ‘Armaghetton’ for a striking Defected debut. Initially released on Marco’s own imprint Uncage, with support from tastemakers like Radio 1’s Danny Howard, Annie Mac and Pete Tong, it quickly pricked the ears of Defected’s A&R team with its lively spoken-word vocal and bounding bass. Perhaps best known for his more techno-leaning releases, this confident foray into house shows Marco Faraone’s innate ability to straddle the two worlds with total finesse. Springy and playful with endless club appeal, ‘Armaghetton’ is a future hit for the dancefloors that might have been.
