It Makes Me Blue

Written by Michael Emmet in the year 2000, to the tune of a Weavers cover of Jackhammer John, a song that Woody Guthrie wrote to the tune of Brown's Ferry Blues, written by the Delmore Brothers. The current arrangement is modelled after Lonesome Jailhouse Blues, a song that the Delmore Brothers later wrote to the tune of their own song, Brown's Ferry Blues.

Screefer McDuff (Treeplantin' Blues)

Hillbilly revivalist, well-steeped in Appalachian old time and bluegrass music. A lifetime's eclectic musical journey has led to this: a renaissance of the sound of two-part, close harmonies with mandolin/guitar accompaniment, from the incredibly fecund period from the dawn of the recording industry in the 20s to the early 1950s... in a contemporary context.
