01. Greatest Fear
"Hi, so you are currently here on what is called a 5150 involuntary psychiatric hold.
You're going to be here for at least 72 hours, okay?"

I was the one that crawled into my arms,
Well, I had such a pretty excuse.
I called out my name from the cover of darkness,
I hoped that I misunderstood.
I sharpened my knife on my skin,
laid waste to my sins that did not exist.
I am the maker of my isolation.
I hope that I judge myself by my own standards I've set.

So who am I to say?

I am my own greatest fear.
I still see all the marks on my neck from the rope as I swung from the ceiling.
(The tip of my toes scrape the floors.)
I feel all of myself slip out of my pores.

I still see all the blood on the table that leaked from my nostrils.
(Now I stem the flow with the back of my sleeve.)
You looked at me blankly then fell back to sleep.


I was the first one to open my mouth.
I took in a breath and I punctured my lungs.
I ripped out my arm from my socket to hold myself up, well, I hope I was worth it.
Cause I am a stranger inside of my home,
these walls aren't the same ones I know.
Intimate with my confinement, cause I'm trying my best to be better alone.
