Dear friends, we can be grateful to all those who work early in the morning.
The picture is from an early morning walk with a friend -  my daughters lovely and kind Samojed dog.

It’s early morning, and most people are sleeping.
They are in the middle of their dreams
and they never have the thought of leaving their bed
even though the sun has gone up again,
but there are people who must put on all clothes that they have
and go out for their daily morning tasks.

One may have a question - have You ever felt gratitude

and said ”thank You a lot” to the newsboy in charge?
He would be happy that dark morning

We seldom think that there are people who are chasing thieves
from the early morning until the night.
there are also folks who are caring for the sick,
and all the elderly folks in Your town
and remember the guys who are transporting Your things

Introduction in English:
After five years of abstinence, my son fell back into drugs. All attempts to help him bounced off the increasingly overpowering drug cocktails. All my feelings during this time, the anger about the destructive power of the drugs, the powerlessness in the face of the quicksand in which my son sank further and further, the despair and sadness about the loss of loving contact with him, I have tried to process in this song.

Nach fünf Jahren der Abstinenz ist mein Sohn wieder den Drogen verfallen. Alle Versuche, ihm zu helfen, prallten an den immer übermächtiger werdenden Drogencocktails ab. Alle meine Gefühle in dieser Zeit, die Wut über die zerstörerische Kraft der Drogen, die Ohnmacht angesichts des Treibsandes, in den mein Sohn immer weiter versank, die Verzweiflung und Trauer über den Verlust des liebevollen Kontaktes zu ihm, habe ich versucht, in diesem Song zu verarbeiten.

Descending into the unknown, thousands of years old. What will you find? How will it feel?
---
I've realised the descent by the continuous downwards motion of the bass in the first part. The delay on the kick drum mirros the echos in a cave, first being on it's own, later being joind by more echos to form a pulsating groove.

Höhle (Cave)

Introduction in English:

My uncle, who became a sort of surrogate father to me after my father's untimely death, celebrates his 91st birthday in July. His wife had passed away some time ago and he had been single ever since. 
About five years ago, he visibly harbored the intention of ending his life in Switzerland with active euthanasia. 
Then, surprisingly, an elderly lady (about five years younger than him) moved into the apartment next door. She had also been widowed for some time.
Both got to know each other and fell in love. 
And even today they seem to be freshly in love with each other when I visit and they are sitting snuggled up on my uncle's old sofa. 
A scene that gives me hope and shows me that love can "catch" you even in old age. 
And a scene that was the starting point for the creation of the song "I`m in Love" posted here.  

Lyrics (for those, who don`t speak German)

First verse:

I had already counted the days one by one,
I struggled out of bed every morning
Went all crooked and awry 
Had long since lost my hair

In Switzerland I had already ordered my coffin
For my gradual departure from the world

Mein Onkel, der nach dem frühen Tod meines Vaters eine Art Ersatzvater für mich geworden ist, feiert im Juli seinen 91. Geburtstag. Seine Frau war schon länger verstorben und er seitdem alleinstehend. 
Vor ca. fünf Jahren  hegte er zusehends die Absicht, seinem Leben in der Schweiz mit aktiver Sterbehilfe ein Ende zu setzen. 
Dann zog überraschend eine ältere Dame (etwa fünf Jahre jünger als er) in die Nachbarswohnung ein. Auch sie war schon längere Zeit verwitwet.
Beide lernten sich kennen und verliebten sich ineinander. 
Und auch heute noch wirken Sie wie frisch verliebt ineinander, wenn ich Sie besuche und sie eng aneinander geschmiegt auf dem alten Sofa meines Onkels sitzen. 
Eine Szene, die mir Hoffnung macht und mir zeigt, dass die Liebe einen auch noch im hohen Alter "erwischen" kann. 
Und eine Szene, die den Ausgangspunkt für die Entstehung des hier geposteten Songs "I`m in Love" bildete.

Introduction in English:

Most recently, after a long time, I was at the "Black Cafe" on Berlin's Kurfürstendamm. And as I sat there, I remembered a scene from my life that was the starting point for the song "Treason:
About 25 years ago I'm sitting one Saturday morning at three o'clock in the Black Cafe. Although I hardly ever drink alcohol, I'm drinking my third glass of vodka to wash down the increasingly painful shock of a triple betrayal: 
My wife betrayed our fidelity alliance because she cheated on me. My best friend betrayed our friendly loyalty because my wife cheated with him. And finally, I betrayed myself by taking poor care of myself and blindly trusting them.
The associated feeling of "nothing is the same as it was before" and "everything that seemed so right now appears wrong, upside down, or in shambles..." I have tried to express with this song.

All The Beauty

The Golden Mantis are the Mannheim/Germany based musicians Silvia Subosco and Roger Münzenmayer.

In the mid 80s they already played together in The Valentines, one of the most exciting Mannheim bands at that time. When the group split up at the end of the 90s, this did not mean the musical end of the two of them at the same time. Silvia continued to compose magical songs in her idiosyncratic style and Roger continued to develop his creativity in many regional band projects.
 
In 2019, they finally came together again as The Golden Mantis to re-set the repertoire that had been created over the past years. Words and melodies are Silvia's thing, while Roger's signature is reflected in sound, music and production. The Golden Mantis publish their songs in both German and English.
 
The attempt to describe the band's music must fail miserably, because there is so much personality and emotion involved that every genre drawer creaks. There is only one way to approach them: LISTEN! The Golden Mantis songs are a unique melange. Classic singer/songwriter meets Indie Rock, Dark Folk, Chanson and 80s New Wave. Silvia's deep, warm and often rough voice takes the listener on a flying carpet into a different world - dark, plaintive, confident, warm ... and always emotional. If you follow this trail, her whole magic unfolds, shakes and a letting go is hardly possible.
