Help speaks for itself I think it's a cry of relief. when you feel like you're trapped in a place you don't want to be sometimes the easiest way to deal with it is to a write a song. this one comes from a place of being unsure of what's next or overthinking. like all troubled times, talking about it can take lift a weight off your shoulders.

this song sort of leans into that feeling like you can't talk to anyone but then realising that you can. and how it can change your perspective and realise it's ok to not be ok.

this is our favourite song written to date, we hope you enjoy it!

Hi we are Layer Cake – the band you didn’t see coming like that dollop of tomato sauce in Paul Kelly’s gravy recipe.

Our debut self titled EP released in 2019 was compared (by oh so many) to pop rock favourites such as The Strokes, Vampire Weekend and The Beatles – however you can compare us to whoever you like, as long as they are incredibly more successful than us and we can live vicariously through an over fluffed complimentary comparison.

Layer Cake’s return to glory in 2021 comes in the form of yet another self proclaimed smash hit slice of cake called Tomorrow’s Happiness - Coming atcha full of sweetness and that extra tang!
