Having been a fundamental and massively influential part of the UK Speed Garage and UK Garage scene for  the past two decades, Jeremy Sylvester curates  for the first time a special album collection of 31 tracks, dedicated to his Speed Garage releases which have  became classics over the many years on vinyl.

Jeremy  delivers a selection of some of his biggest Speed Garage tracks under his various allies used such as GOD Limited, Miles Fontaine, MF Project, Strictly Dubz, Sly, Funkaholics + more.

The album contains tracks previously only  released on vinyl, rare sort after classics and unreleased tracks all digitally remastered from his original DAT master.

This is the first of a series of albums exclusively brought to you on his own imprint Urban Dubz Music.

94 - 97 Underground House & Garage Part 1

Next up in our series we have House and Garage pioneer- Jeremy Sylvester!

Jeremy has had a musical background since the moment he was born. His first encounters were through his father; a member of a successful disco band 'J.A.L.N' in the early eighties.

In addition to the early influences of his father, artists mainly of American origin, such as Chic, Chaka Khan, Diana Ross, Delegation, Kool and the Gang etc were an inspiration to Jeremy.

Jeremy’s first productions were recorded in his father’s studio in Handsworth Birmingham. Initially producing “Rave music” inspired by reggae. Jeremy gradually ventured into “drum n bass” which led him to start a record label in 1994 with his father called 'Dubtronix'. This label produced two highly successful tracks “screwface” and “fantasy”.

The not so obvious stage in Jeremy’s musical career was to become a DJ. His reason however, was so that he could share his music at a street level- getting a direct reaction from the crowds he was playing to. He involved himself with local pirate radio stations, playing deep NY house music, which later led towards a successful path playing at clubs all around the world.

Jeremy moved to London and settled in quickly, going to all the major House and Garage clubs so that he could get a vibe from the crowds. The pirate scene in London was larger than the rest of England and played mainly House and Garage, so Jeremy listened carefully to what the DJ’s were playing and began producing music to a similiar sound.

Looking to further his career in music, Jeremy contacted Nice n Ripe records and started to produce tracks on their label under various names: SLY, DEEP COVER, GROOVE CONNECTION, G.O.D, SYLVESTER, to name a few.

He also formed a production/remix outfit for Nice N Ripe under the name “CLUB ASYLUM”, in which he went on to remix work by the likes of:
ALL SAINTS, JODECI, THE DON, SHOLA AMA,  ANOTHER LEVEL, KENNY THOMAS, GINUWINE, BARBARA TUCKER, LUTRICIA MCNEAL, MAIDA MYLES, MARVIN AND TAMERA AND DAWN TALLMEN, amongst others, yet still keeping an underground edge to his sound.

Jeremy has since gone on to become one of the most established House and Garage producers to come out of England and it is an honour to have him feature on our mix series.
