Behemoth was the last track I wrote from the set of demos. Perhaps it was also the quickest effort as well. By the time I'd got around to making the Soundtrack I'd learned to streamline the process with brutal & ruthless efficiency! 

Having said that, I still think the track requires more work in order to make it a bit more interesting. 

I feel the drum tracks are somewhat "samey" & require a bit more variation. It goes stale very quickly. 

I also threw in samples of a human choir for good measure!

ABOUT THE TRACK:

Croftian was the first Soundtrack I made from the set of demos. It was also the first time I'd used Native Instrument's 'Action Strikes'! I was in unfamiliar territory but Action Strikes proved to be very intuitive. 

My initial intention was to create a short demo but then I fell into 'the hole'...the rest is history. 

The lead part in the main section was heavily inspired by Pink Floyd's Rick Wright & his use of leads to create dramatic & powerful sounds. His pioneering work with Synths remains a continued source of inspiration. 

My friend named the track simply because it reminds him of the Soundtracks from the Tomb Raider franchise... although I personally can't hear it!

ABOUT THE TRACK:

At the time when I made Black Angel I had been listening to Cristobal tapia de veer's discography. I was particularly inspired by his work on Utopia & National Treasure.

Black Angel was the most technically challenging of all the Soundtracks. Clocking in at 5 minutes with lots of progressions & over 40 tracks to manage it became somewhat of a love/hate passion project. 

It certainly feels as if it is the weakest of my efforts from a subjective & object perspective. I feel I had been a tad over ambitious.

That said, I plan to return to the project and rearrange it & get a better overall polish. 

 I also threw in a wee bit of "Pianee" for good measure.
