Listen as I sit down with my good friend, Crystal, as we talk about her experience growing up with a single mother here in the wonderful southern state of Georgia. With every life experience comes with challenges we may have wished were different and blessings that we couldn't imagine having lived without. Crystal shares being a rebellious teenager, navigating college selections on her own, how it was for her losing her father during her early years in college, and how her mother's strength greatly influenced the woman she is today.

There's a lot of miseducation about Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders and I want to take a minute to provide some education surrounding postpartum depression. I find that this may be extremely helpful for people who are supporting a new mom or a new mom that may be experiencing some symptoms, but may not know what to call it. I give a brief overview of exactly what PMADs is and where you can go to get help.

Ep.4 What Is Postpartum?

It's been a long time coming. I've always gone back and forth about sharing or not sharing this story, but I do realize that we heal and help a lot of people through sharing. My personal experience with postpartum is what really enabled me to want to reach and help as many women as possible. I've been there and I get it. In this week's episode I talk about my postpartum experience, the highs and the lows, and how I was able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Everyone's journey through motherhood is different and this is my personal journey. Please share with me your own personal story!

Ep.7 My Postpartum Story

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor here in Atlanta, GA with a private practice where I specialize in working with women. I'm also certified in maternal mental health. As a woman, daughter, friend, wife, and mother I know the struggles that women go through on a day-to-day basis. I wanted to create a space to talk about the struggles and to assist listeners with ways to navigate the journey of womanhood.
