The Dream///
I am awakened by a violent quake. Minutes pass as I lay in bed, static eyes widened with fear. My apartment shakes, cracks crawl across the walls as our homes lose their integrity. It is unsafe to remain under a roof.
	 I step outside and a sky of sweeping orange clouds looks down upon me, staring into my eyes, a face riddled with sorrow and joy. I hear the thunder above speak to the inhabitants of the earth, rampant and hostile, with a thousand questions that have no answer.
	 Among violent jolts appear vivid beams of light with colors on a spectrum invisible to the human eye, piercing apertures in the atmosphere and through layers of thick clouds. One by one, thousands by thousands, throughout my city they shine, warping and distorting reality.
	 In awe I stand staring at the spectacle, unable to move. Thoughts of the one that i love flash through my mind, comforting me.
	 A ray of light, nay, a new dimension is cast upon me. Stunned, I suddenly feel as though every inch of my body is lighter than air, every ounce of weight has shed. Underneath me, a weak thud. A wave of serenity glides over me as I stare down at my lifeless body. The physical realm is reduced to it’s basic structure of patterns and sacred code.
	 I periodically shift my metaphysical form to cast a sheet like shadow over my surroundings which allow me to perceive reality in an impossible way. Burning cars, broken trees, bodies spread about with synapses of light hovering in close proximity.
	 In an instant, the chaos around me yields, flames stop flickering, leaves stop shimmering, and all sensation has dissipated into a monotone, low droning hum. From this hum, a white noise builds. All is silent and is still. The sound, infinitely loud, manifests into a physical entity and being without bounds begins to collapse in on itself.
	 
	 For a moment, silence… 
	
	Silence that shatters into infinite shards as the souls of every earthling is hurdled into space through inter dimensional funnels, and turning earth into sand and dust.
struggling to orient myself, I drift into a field of scattered lights. An infinity of pockets of fractals connect to one another with tethers spun together with the thread of the fabric of space-time, and sentient clusters of cobalt spheres shape-shift as they file into realms of their choosing.
	 I stay, in the spaces between pockets, lost and incomplete. I feel a pull towards another, as if my structure has been scattered upon transcendence. They are out there, looking for me as well. I slip through the strings and spaces of the astral plane, determined to reunite with my missing piece. My unrelenting magnetism towards this other encapsulates my entire being. Nothing can become of me unless we are reunited, and i spend a small infinity searching every vacant corner of an incomprehensibly vast wave of silky strands.
	 In a deep fractal, lightyears away from where i began, i start to dwindle.
 Suddenly,
 I feel a pulse.
 I can feel their presence.
 I see a light.
