This remix combines the track "Shadows of Death" from the Black Mesa OST, written by Joel Nielsen, with "Wheatley Science" from the Portal 2 soundtrack as composed by Mike Morasky (Aperture Science Psychoacoustic Laboratories). It is quite apparent that both tracks share similar DNA. When I started thinking about remixing this track, I also noticed the similarities to "Break Those Bones Whose Sinews Gave It Motion" by the incredible Meshuggah. So, here's my interpretation of Wheatley Science and Shadows of Death, while also - in the words of the legendary Devin Townsend, totally ripping off Meshuggah.

Both source tracks are fairly limited in terms material to draw from, essentially just consisting of one theme each that is progressed in terms of layers and intensity. This is why I felt inspired to come up with completely original bridge- and chorus-like sections to make this remix a more traditional song structure while still interweaving the main themes, melodies and rhythms of the original material all throughout.

Big thank you and shoutout to Liz Jansen, the voice of @Lapidarium, who contributed some atmospheric vocalizations in the latter half of the track, which are reinterpreted from those in "Shadows of Death"! Finally, and as a first for my remixes, this track was professionally mastered by Tony Lindgren (Opeth, Marty Friedman, Billie Eilish, Sepultura, ...) at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden to give this the final polish.
