The Sting (ThouShaltNot Cover)

Supposed to be the "final track" on my album. Originally wanted to make it a longer track about how "Tired of it all" people are through their youth, capping into their mid-30s... Usually about really petty stuff but I decided to keep it short and add an homage to Lego Island of all things at the end.

Growing Pains

Storytime: What inspired this one was a livestream I watched of a dude exposing some pretty putrid stuff on the internet, he stopped halfway to smoke from a bong (of screen of course) but he coded it as "aroma therapy". Which I thought was really funny, but as the stream went on he admitted he regretted having to resort to substances for the sake of entertaining his audience. Thus, this song is about how entertainers are often self destructive people or trap themselves in self destruction. I'm a clean person, but I do get the case of resorting to bad habits to cope with expectations of your audience.

Fumes (Aroma Therapy)

The "you gave me 5 minutes of attention so I must simp" anthem. Originally I sang this as "Michael" or is it "Michelle", but there are already plenty of Michael songs. Settled on Franklin due to watching Nitti: The Enforcer that same week. Also the first song I ever pieced 100 percent without samples, so it's messy.

Franklin

Set to be played before "Growing Pains", Initially I felt this was the most underdeveloped track. Couldn't get that "Casque of Amontillado" line the way I wanted it lol, but this track was the first one I fiddled with early in the year. Long story short; it's amazing what someone will confess to you even after they know they committed a terrible act.... Don't rob your friend and then commit 2 years later that you have a robbery kink or equivalent let's just put it that way...

Spy Vs Spy (The Villain Song)

Recorded back in June 2021. The first song I created fully with GarageBand. I had Depeche Mode and the concept of an old short film in mind, where it was essentially a self loathing vampire that starts to regret their way of living after meeting a pastor. Ends with her getting decimated by a Ford Model A because the lack of "feeding" makes her so weak... Y'know dead vampire shit, idk why I set it up like that since I'm a lawful athiest lmao.

One of the only things I miss about not recording in an apartment: being able to go hard on vocals without worrying you've been too loud lol.

super super old track, before I even could figure out garageband and beepbox a little better. 98% samples except for the bubbly sound.
Very on brand with the rest of the album, writing this song actually unrepressed a lot of my anger at the situation I was in.
The Guy Album spawned from this but I didn't feel like the rap vibe mixed with everything else.... SPACE!

After months of debilitating chest pain from bile reflux/esophagitis - I finally have it under controlish. Playing around with recording while I can talk/sing without pain again. yay.
