Hi, this is Scott Scanlon from Curation Suite, and in this audio we'll talk about the new release by Twitter, actually, the new feature by Twitter called Moments. We'll talk about what it is. I've had a lot of questions from some of our members in our private member area as well about what does this new feature mean? Is there something I can do with it? Is there an opportunity here? Also talk about, on a larger scale, what does this mean for Twitter and the other social networks? Let's jump right in.

The first thing, if you're not aware of what Moments is. Basically, the way Twitter describes it is it's a wrap-up or a curated aspect of certain moments, or certain stories. I look at it as certain topics. You'll see this at the top of your Twitter stream on the actual Twitter website and in various apps. It will be, I guess they call it a lightning bolt, so you click on the lightning bolt, and you'll see a roundup of various stories, from tweets, to vines, to videos, to animated GIFs. Maybe it's GIFs, I don't know. However you want to say that. To tweets, to a lot of different media aspects to a single story.

What You Can Learn From Twitter Moments

Today I wanted to share a quick thought on one of the most important aspects in having success with content curation. I'd even suggest it's more important than the content you curate.

So what could be more important that what content you curate?

It's essential that your audience feels and receives the value you provide.

This is important regardless of how you monetize your curation efforts. It doesn't matter your market, niche, or audience you're after.


What Matters More Than the Content You Curate

Today we will cover two technologies that affect you as a publisher.

The first one is Accelerated Mobile Pages or AMP and the next one is Instant Pages from Facebook, soon to be released from Facebook.

Content Curation for the Local Marketer - Tips and Advice

Today we'll talk about how often you should curate content or how often you should click publish. We'll talk about both curating content on your local site or your blog and also social media. This question about how much you should curate, how much you should publish, is one of the biggest questions that I get. Typically, my answer is the same no matter what market or niche you're within, no matter what you're really looking to do for your content curation or your publishing, what your goals are. It typically is publish and curate as much as you possibly can. I've get to see someone that did not increase their publishing, that did not increase the amount of curations that they do, and not get more traffic, not get more conversions, and ultimately not make it more worthwhile.

How much should you curate?

Are you a coach or consultant who draws a blank when you try to work on your own business? 

I work with a lot of coaches, marketing consultants or consultants that do a lot of consulting out there in a business space. One of the biggest things I've had from the last couple of years is, "Look, I can get on the phone with someone, a client and I can help them with their marketing, I can give them a plan, I can give them a sales plan, I can do all these things. When it's executed, it does really well for their business. When it comes to my own business, I draw a blank." It's just like if you show up to a painter's house and the paint is all chipped and faded or you show up to a handy man's house and he tells you to go around the back, because the front door doesn't open...
