"Denis Expert asked me to try and come up with lyrics for this song following a trick called "cut up", well known to David Bowie. This technique comes from the writer William S Burroughs.
So I printed off Bowie's biography from his website and began reading, highlighting anything cool that popped up!
After many edits, Smuggle in the Strange is the final result.

This instrumental arrangement was created by music producer Dan Burkhart. He brought a nostalgic 80's feel to the song while adding a modern synth touch. The whole thing has a relaxing and soothing atmosphere with the chorus in the chorus which was performed by himself.

This cover we are designing, dedicated to David Bowie, brings another look at the artist's rock interpretation thanks to the electropop arrangements of music producer Dan Burkhart and the voice of Major Kami, who performs a sort of "question and answer" by doubling his voice, one of which follows David Bowie's melodic line.                                                                          
Moderne Love is the first track of David Bowie's album "Let's dance". The song was inspired by Little Richard. The theme is a struggle between God and man.

Dan Burkhart, arranger for Damde8, musical producer for others, brings here an added value by breaking the codes linked to rock (basis of this David Bowie song), to integrate more vaporous electronic sounds. You will notice the sax solo, worthy of Donny McCaslin!
The melodic line has been kept but the musical ensemble makes us discover a completely different register which manages to make us totally forget the origin of this world famous melody.

The song wrote itself. The writer Camille imagined how we all pray to our various "dashboard deities". The vision of these beautiful art-deco plastic saviours came to her mind.
Producer Denis asked him to add something about "Blue Beam", a conspiracy theory about NASA and the UN.
The song says we're happy to stick to our Buddhas, Jesus, Ganesha and all the gods we represent on the dashboard of our cars, in the face of a new religion created to suppress all individuality. .... A heavy subject for such a light song...
But everything is so heavy nowadays that you'd better think about dancing!

Dedicated to David Bowie
We were still locked up (Covid), when this piece was written, and I imagined Bowie's vinyl records as a sonic and spiritual elixir to all the negativity that was going on. I feel like his music is another world, and one that we all benefit from! (Camille Miller,  lyricist)
Our references for the claps in the verses but also the intertwining of the choruses in the choruses are a nod to soul, motown and the way David Bowie exploited the voices in his album "Young Americans". (Denis Expert, independent producer of DAMde8).
Dan Burkhart, the arranger, co-composer and sound engineer has brought a technicality here that creates what we consider a total fusion with the lyrics of the song (DAMde8).

Mama Water parle de ces personnes, comparables à vous et moi, essayant de traverser les mers dans des bateaux de fortune sans fortune, pour sauver leur vie en espérant trouver asile dans  d’autres contrées accueillantes, sans dictatures, sans violences extrêmes et destructrices.  
Les migrants de notre monde à la dérive.

Au milieu des océans, leur destinée est aux mains de Mama Water (ou Watta), mythologie africaine, capable du meilleur comme du pire qui, avec son serpent sillonnant les mers peut sauver ou anéantir les être humains.

A teenager with a great imagination owns a vast secret garden in which all his dreams and desires exist; he decides to share it by inviting the one he loves to escape there together.
However the energy that emanates from the garden is too strong and creates a fire in this place too private to be shared. He finds himself lonely for not having been able to love at all.

Un adolescent, très imaginatif, possédant un vaste jardin secret dans lequel tous ses rêves et ses désirs se trouvent, décide de le faire partager en invitant celle qu'il aime  pour s'évader tous deux.
Mais l’énergie qui s'en dégage est trop forte et crée un incendie dans ce lieu trop privé pour être partagé. 
Il se retrouve solitaire de n'avoir pas su aimer tout simplement.

Last Killer is a song about the damages caused by the ego and how it keeps us from meeting one another with compassion and empathy. It is also a song about the state of the world and the global effects of the ego. The world is run in such a way that we are pushed to put up our defences when what we truly crave is to feel connected. We have forgotten how to be open minded and open hearted. As a result, our planet can no longer support these conditions, the continents are slipping away from it and all its occupants with them; everything is moving away from a balanced system that our earth so dared to hope for. Last Killer asks us to change ourselves so that we may change the world.
