Strawberry Spring (GPD #11 intro)

A catchy track I released a long time ago on mp3.com, one of the first ones I composed for my Roland XP-80. It became quite popular and had good reviews. I even received an e-mail from a foreign radio station asking for a Radio Edit version they could broadcast. The quality of this version is pretty bad (I uploaded some old mp3 file with a low bitrate... will see if I can remaster it at some point.)

In hindsight: too much reverb on bass, the intermezzo is a bit off, ending is cheesy.

MOA 2032

A song created somewhere in 1992 for the OPL1 and OPLL (aka MSX Audio/MSX Music) soundchips. Originally composed in FAC SoundTracker, later converted to MoonBlaster.

The song plays ingame, while the player solves puzzles of varying complexity.

3SQUARE BGM 4

A tune I composed for our Golden Power Disc magazine, issue 7. This particular issue was themed around ancient Egypt, so I tried to make it sound that way, but didn't want to make it sound like a typical 'ancient Egypt chiptune' at the same time.

GPD7 Intro

One of the songs I wrote once I bought the classical expansion board for my Roland XP-80. It's an orchestral song with some asian influences mixed into it.

Specks of Memories

My most recent song for the MSX community, written in 2015 for the OPL4 chip. This song was composed shortly after the horrible Charlie Hebdo terrorist attack, hence the title which is a reference to "Je suis Charlie".

It only uses ROM sounds (like most of my OPL4 songs, which means I limit myself to a fixed set of pre-sampled instruments to achieve a very small memory footprint).

Je suis Jean-Louis

One of my favorite Nihon Falcom tracks from the action JRPG called "Ys" (which can be enjoyed on multiple platforms). I arranged this song from this particular game for the MSX OPL4 soundchip in 1996. Only ROM sounds are used.

The very first song I wrote for the OPL4 soundchip (aka Moonsound) on the night before a fair. Only ROM sounds are used (no custom samples).

Careless For Strings

Cathcy in-game music written for an MSX2 game called 3-Square... the very first 'published' game I wrote music for somewhere in the early 90's.

Rearrangement of the very nice ending song for the famous SNES RPG: ChronoTrigger. I used Sonar and my Roland XP-80 to recreate this song a long time ago... can't remember when excactly, but should be somewhere in the late 90's.

Sorry for the bad recording... use an old MP3 file which I recorded ages ago. Will remaster it at some point if there're enough listeners :)

ChronoTrigger - To Far Away Times

A song I wrote for some American girl I met on the internet after her boyfriend broke up with her. I created this song using Sonar in combination with my Roland XP-80.

The recording is poor (source is some old MP3 file), but will remaster it when there are plenty of listeners.

Story of a Broken Heart

A partial arrangement of an Ys VIII (8) track I enjoy. Playing this game on the Nintendo Switch and had some spare time during Xmas holidays. Was unable to finish the arrangement for the MSX/OPL4 chip due to circumstances, but hopefully will finish (and polish) it one day.

The current version status is "during first pass, hardly any polish".
