He sailed around the world out of Los Angeles, and discovered "Prune Island" which was a hellish place, approached the government of St. Vincent to develop it, and got it for $1 a year for 99 years! He employed people from neighboring Union Island, and built a hotel, planted 8000 palm trees by hand, and renamed it "Palm." He dog was "Palmy."
