Following standout appearances on Feel My Bicep, Unknown To The Unknown, and E-MISSIONS, Irish-born DJ/producer Cromby hits Rekids with a four-track EP of crisp techno cuts. Heavily utilising the sound of hardware across the release, ‘Twisted Future EP’ sees Cromby explore the depths of these classic sound palettes over robust techno frameworks. 

‘IXP-42’ brings crunching drums and wiggling synths together for over two minutes, building tension before eventually, the much-awaited bassline comes in thick and fast. ‘Follow The Bass’ brings a dose of the unusual to proceedings, with snaking FM leads modulating throughout a maze of sizzling percussion.

On the flip, Bleep meets Baltimore on ‘Relief’, with meaty acid lines, vocals and clattering drums sparring with each other across the track, while ‘Vortex’ rounds off the release, with bright shimmering stabs peppering the stomping drums and distinct squelch of the 303.

It is a cornerstone of social life and it creates connections between people from all different walks of life. HDSN´s first digital release of 2021 shines a light on the magic and influence between club culture and reality. NBAST037 is a love letter to everyone who is missing life and all it´s treasures, a real treat in these times full of hard struggle and stress that gonna make you smile and dance at the same time like you were used to it.

‘Isolated Love’ hits deep, dubby and hard. Equally thumping as it is deep, it’s a high tempo house track reflecting the simplicity of great grooving house music: a weighty kick, a bassline, soft keys, synths and snapping hats. Paired with a video of HDSN himself roaming the streets of Munich looking for love in an isolated world, it’s a soundtrack for today’s times.

Months of lockdown boredom and a lack of nightclubs, house parties and festivals, chemically reinforced togetherness and gurns, has resulted in a new 12” by Paul & Shark.

The first single from the record titled ‘Roxanna_Break_Stuff’ incorporates memories of acid bright neons, the ubiquitous smileys, baggy trousers and bucket hats. Pumping drums, funky synth work and a standout vocal edit makes this one a unique and catchy piece of rave music culture.

The track comes accompanied with a remix by Japan's rising UK garage producer Stones Taro, who's been featured lately in several places with his on target vinyl releases and precise DJ mixes.

PREMIERE : Paul & Shark - Roxanna_Break_Stuff

Electronic project Ready in LED has to be the Ukrain’s answer to Roisin Murphy. She is the multi-talented goddess Olya Dibrova, a singer and sound producer out of Kiev, with a penchant for vintage synths. The Ukranian scenester’s music is driven by neon pop, powerful synth-wave, analog bass, the romantic piano solos of Tchaikovsky, and just a little bit of Kylie.

The ‘Unreal’ EP features a wide range of disco. From NYC garage inspired ‘TMO’, to the highly sensual ‘Feel’. The main disco bangers are ‘Whatever’ and the super mega - 'Only Tonight', surely a Harvey future classic that’ll have you reaching for the sky and looking up at the Disco ball.

The four original cuts are treated to some killer remixes from a star-studded line up that kicks off with a monstrous banger from Gerd Janson. The Running Back boss delivers a prime- time bomb with shades of New Order throughout. Norwegian Disco don Prins Thomas, goes full on synth cascades and percussion with live bass and cowbells on his dancefloor deadly Diskomiks of ‘Only Tonight’. Music For Dreams boss man Kenneth Bager applies his beautiful Balearic touch to a more downtempo version of ‘Feel’. Lovelock tackles ‘TMO’ and goes in the direction of epic space funk, adding live drums and guitar strings. This is New York musician Steve Moore (Kompakt) in his solo synth-disco project moniker. All four originals are included for your listening pleasure. They were recorded in 2020 at the Kiev studio, Artreform Records. The mixing engineer is no less than New York’s Justin van der Volgen.

With a glimmer of optimism on the horizon, we’re delighted to announce our second V/A compilation Psycho/Soma - the first of many exciting releases for 2021.

12 tracks to move body & mind, spanning a full spectrum of UK club music - from introspective, tripped-out rollers to intense percussive workouts and frantic 160(ish) action.

To accompany the release, we’re creating our first ever run of limited edition, long-sleeve, 100% organic cotton, peta-approved t-shirts, designed by UK-based independent graphic artist Alex Vissaridis.

In the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, we released our first compilation ‘Remote Access’, which has so far raised over £1000 for the Trussell Trust. We’d like to continue to use these V/As to support causes we’re passionate about, so a portion of the label’s profits for this release will be split between three prominent mental health charities who we feel are doing important work in the UK - Mind, YoungMinds & Black Minds Matter.

2021 is a milestone year for Jimpster and the label he founded with Tom Roberts back in 1996.  It was never going to be plain sailing all the way but their passion for discovering, making and releasing the music they love has seen them pushing into their 25th year with more enthusiasm and determination than ever before.  Ahead of the release of his fifth LP, a four vinyl Jimpster Anthology and Remix EP we dive head first into the deepness of his Soul Spectral EP.

The title track is widescreen, late-night house music at it’s most evocative. Crackling Rhodes chords hang suspended in the air like morning mist on Hackney Marshes while Greg Paulus’ lilting trumpet spins us out into the stratosphere.  Live percussion courtesy of Laroye adds an organic depth to the track, creating just the kind of loose, enveloping groove that Jimpster loves to draw us into. Sanguine continues the theme of sublime, heartfelt music for the body and soul, bringing together glacial synths, chopped piano samples with a simple, driving house groove which you will be more than happy to get lost in.

Flipping over we have Think Of You Always, a more uptempo house jam but one that stays true to the ethereal mood of the release.  Textured layers come in and out of focus giving just a fleeting glimpse before fading into the shadows.  Some elements floating across the 6/8 rhythm ambiguously whilst others are locked machine-like to the rigid pulse of the kick drum.

Rounding off this special release we have Jimpster’s own Dub mix of Soul Spectral which pairs things back to the rhythmic elements, stripping away the harmonic elements to let Greg’s beautiful shiny trumpet take centre
stage.
