I am not very happy with this, so I will probably not keep it up. I spent all day working on it. I could continue refining it, but I need to focus on my thesis and languages.

Part of the problem is that this piece is very delicate and relies heavily on rubato. Because of that, it truly needs to be performed by actual human musicians to be properly represented. I could experiment with the orchestration to improve the balance (which is far from perfect), but right now, I feel too weary to do so.

That said, I always envisioned the rolled chords being played by a harp (though, for some reason, I couldn’t get the first chord to roll). And at the climax, I always heard an orchestra in my head. I also included the glockenspiel, which is a wonderful instrument. And the ending—probably my favorite ending of all my pieces—sounds quite nice with the strings.

In short, I would need to refine this further, but I do think this piece can work with orchestral accompaniment.
