Emile Strunz was born across the dancefloors of Spain, Germany and London, amidst the dry ice and strobes at many a Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb gig. Exposure to the UK's club scene over a 20-year period has seen Emile contribute to Mixmag and write for the Cream clubbing empire.

A sound has slowly develop and christened 'North Sea Body Music' comprising of driving controlled electronic sequences, tribal rhythms, and robotic chanting. His debut single, 'Shields', released on Andy Blake's World Unknown label in 2012 was an immediate introduction to his hard, heavy and hypnotic electronic sound. This has been followed up by releases on Porn Wax, Flight Recorder and Rothmans. For Join Our Club he continues his sonic quest and journey into the night with 2 precise slabs of dancefloor-driven synth-heavy lo-slung hypnotica for Balearic Beat Boys (and Girls).

Friends since the PULP years, Jennifer Cardini and David Shaw have joined forces for a phenomenal project which will bring the dance floor walls crumbling down!
Their first encounter was at the Pulp, 10 years ago, where they spent the entire night (well almost) talking about their mutual taste for bands like Joy Division, the Smiths, Etienne Daho , Stinky Toys...to create their bonds which took a decade to actually emerge . It was the fantastic documentary “Paris is Burning”, which introduces the Voguing scene in New York in the 80’s, which inspired “In The Ballroom” and “Pepper Labeija”, the first fruit of their collaboration.

In the meantime, the spooky, pop-tinged electro of "Emails 2 Myself" – a collaboration with fellow Montreal talent and RBMA alum Marie Davidson - debuted on Red Bull Radio's First Floor, our weekly look at what's new in electronic music.

Solitary Dancer "Emails 2 Myself (feat. Marie Davidson)" [First Floor Premiere]

Calypso is the new label from Iñigo Vontier (Mx) and Thomass Jackson (Arg) which will focus on promoting latinamerican artists. With a solid background from both artists releasing on labels like Turbo, Correspondant, Gomma, Her Majestys Ship, My Favorite Robot and many more, Calypso promesses to deliver an inmersion into some of the best artists of the underground latinamerican electronic scene. 
For the first track on the B-Side Thomass Jackson gives us "Fantomas", a creepy funky track that will fit perfectly for Dracula's birthday with dirty vocals and misterious samples. The full release will also come wth tracks from Iñigo Vontier and up-and-coming producers Colossio and Mendrix both hailing from Mexico.
The first 12" will see the light somewhere in the beggining of June.

PRÈMIÉRE: Thomass Jackson - Fantomas [Calypso]

A remix appendix to Jennifer Touchs last year EP-Debut on Riotvan. A record, on which essentially everything has already been said. That´s why it is not astonishing that the assemled adaptations do not necessarily evolve the sound narrative of „Feeling C“ but rather revitalise the spirit of the originals in various clubscenarios.

Best example is Curses reinterpretation of „Sell“. An uncomplicated and straightforward floor absorption with the base of a stoic kick and monotone bass foundation. What almost triggered Valerie Dore-Memories in the original version now seems to sound more like a Anne Clark-Hommage with the reduction and the very urged vocal parts.

An even more radical approach is chosen by Chinaski for his interpretation of the title track. The coarse beat substance is almost searching for a link-up to it´s source. But the reduced tempo, the all in all decelerated arrangement and the synthbass-drone that strides through the whole track, transform „Feeling C“ in a score that probably rotates high on Darth Vaders Playlist.

Panthera Krauses approach to „Wordless“ is comparatively careful. Also the break from the 4/4-frame and the reflection onto some of the more distinctive marks of the original. Not to miss: the shift into a different, a little more translucent frequency range.

Subsequent, it´s Touch himself, contributing a revision. Her remix of „No One“ could easily be interpreted as a dub-version. Reduction of the vocal parts, purification of the whole arrangement, explicit rhythm-emphasis. Less events on the surface. But a lot more bounce.

Concluding is another version of „Wordless“, this time from Llewellyn, who lets his already on Riotvans last publication shown sympathy for washed-out Disco-Tradition get the upper hand again. Herefor he invokes of a Synth-Arpeggio as well as a every resistance breaking beat that will find it´s safe place in the more aesthetic segments of todays obvious Disco-House-boom.

Jennifer Touch - No One (Jennifer Touch's Michigan Mix) - Snippet

The German producer @KikeamRadar returns to @DogsAndVulturesRecords, this time with 'Testament', a ray of light that  manages to keep us afloat through the cold and lack of sun . In his latest work he has managed to take his music to another level, more narrative, reflective and intimate, mixing different influences using old and new synthesizers and analog drum machines and combining them with plug-ins and digital effects.

Acclaimed French band @VoxLow takes on 'In Troubled Times' and really make it their own, in a way only they can . Elegant in its own unique right it takes the original to even higher levels with their trademark bass. We're sure this one's going to have lasting appeal and a track you'll be hearing much more of.

The  EP is completed with other excellent remixes from Nozz and  Montcosmik.

Red lights everywhere, girls beakoning him to enter. How did it reach this point? Just a few hours ago everything seemed so fun, just a quiet night out, but that was then.  Gone were the soft glow from the light fittings of the restaurant lost in a wash of alcohol and other narcotics, as he stood there, almost engulfed by the smokey red lights.
Luca Venezia (AKA Curses) Ombra International imprint is going from strength to strength with its own unique blend of Wave, live instrumentation and sleaze! For their 5th outting Theus Mago takes the helm with a healthy dose of dirty funk. 'Smokey Red Lights' gets the remix treatment from Arthur Johnson, giving it a dubby makeover sexy drug ridden whispered vocals almost hide behind a driving bassline which straddles the line between funk and plain filth. This is the kind of track that would set fire to the dancefloor at a night like Pornceptual in Berlin, Strip club music, that will no doubt do just as much damage on a dancefloor.
