Hifi Sean gets his hands on a dusty old tape that had the golden vocal of the ultimate soul diva Loleatta Holloway singing the Style Council classic 'Shout to the Top' which was recorded and released by Fire Island in 1998. There was no musical parts on this tape only the vocal so Sean went about rewriting the arrangement and brings this beauty into the present with these 3 versions including a soulful string laden soul groover , a real late night pumping gospel house jam and a swooning orchestral reprise closing the E.P which includes the last repeated line we all want to hear and we all want to believe right now . The now well established and widely respected Will & Ink label hits release number eight with a debut collaborative effort from Yaleesa Hall and Malin Genie. They serve up three tracks having both released individually on this label before now, and while Yaleesa Hall is still someone we know very little about, Malin Genie is the producer who co-runs the Oscillate label, is based in Amsterdam and Paris and works with Lazare Hoche and Samuel Andre Madsen as Mandar. 

'First Lucas' is a tough, abstract kicker with industrial sound design and weird synths the only accompaniment to a monstrous, earth moving kick drum. Truly hypnotic and all consuming it is followed by a brief bit of dark interlude music before 'Second Lucas' pairs ghoulish sounds with well swung wood block hits and watery pads. It is a forceful groove full of occult atmosphere and lastly 'Third Lucas' is again about solid kick drums and freaky sound design. Here squelchy synths and frazzled lines all dart about as hunched kicks stomp out a macho groove below. This is perfect warehouse music once again from the Will & Ink label.

Tape throb, this is "is an attempt to get to a time in electronic music, where everything sounds warmer", explains the Irish producer Andrew Morrison known as Buz Ludzha (aka @the-cyclist). His newest EP "Basslines for life" contains four wobbled and multilayered tracks entwisting cassette textures, blown-out bass and warehouse rhythm. One of it, "Vibradreams", was already premiered in Boiler Room Debuts. The EP is out today on well-loved LA label @100percentsilk and we're exclusively streaming "Basslines for Life". Jam out!
