No knew wants to get hurt by people. Everybody hates feeling misunderstood and misjudged; And we feel angry when someone gaslights our identity in a false narrative.

So do I.

For years, certain people in my life have tried to write out their own narratives of me; telling me that if I didn't abide by it, I would be miserable, sinful, and dirty. 
And I let them control my life and make me feel that way for many years...

until I chose to write my own storyline.

Taylor Swift's "Look What You Made Me Do" from her "Reputation" album has made me feel empowered; reminding me of the control I have over my life. The choice to not be painted by anyone else but me.

"Armor" was written during a time in my life where I was exhausted running away from my demons. The "armor" is what I imagine to be my daily facade I present to the world so they cannot see my wounds. 
As comfortable as the armor is, there is great relief in taking it off.
