I was raised in Midland, Texas for most of my childhood. As an autistic kid who was unfit for the public school system, I spent most of my developmental years moving between different forms of homeschool and experimental private schools in which I had limited interaction with other people, especially peers. But my life changed forever when my family moved to Albany, Texas. 

Introduced to public education for the first time in an unfamiliar town, I confess that I made quite a fool of myself. I’m hindsight, eighth grade was probably not the best year to come out of my proverbial hole, but the timing couldn’t be helped. The results were fairly predictable, and worsened as I attempted to land a job the following summer. Somehow, I was successful in this endeavor, but had also entered a depressive state and began struggling with the perpetual brain-fog which it tends to include. In the course of about two months, I had an entire saloon full of people convinced that I was smoking weed and earned the affectionate nickname, “Fifty First Days.” 

Not being in the greatest condition already, and having been granted ample time to reflect on my condition, I began to consider suicide at fifteen. What started as a simple thought eventually led to complete plans which began to consume my daily experience. Plans that I would have gladly carried out. 

Luckily, I’ve found some purpose in life since then, and with the help of music, community, discipline and service, I have been victorious in my fight against suicidal ideation for another two ever-improving years. In this time I’ve laid plans for a degree, acquired a 4.0 gpa in both high-school and college classes, and dedicated my life to making the world around me a better place. I’ve had the honor of helping to form a community of supportive friends in Albany as well as joining Wav Absence, a group of young music artists who work to collaborate, support each other’s content, and keep each other in the game. Because of them, I finally published my first release, a story of my adventure with life and death titled “Our Dark Affair” on December 26, 2023 and am now working on an EP that I intend to finish by August, 2024.
