Comfortably Dumb

Remember that time when the pressure had built to boiling and you felt ready to explode? We all have right?

As a teenager, there came the point in time in which I finally started to make sense of the sexual abuse that I had suffered at the hands of my abuser. This confusion, coupled with pubity, led to a spectrum of feelings and emotions...predominantly translated into blind rage. My understanding had not yet allowed me to discover other methods to alleviate my distress. As with all Pressure and Tension...there must be release.

35 years have passed. My method I had devised for 'normal' functioning in society whilst still holding my secret had been working...it's funny how life can take a sudden turn. The police were at my door...my abuser had passed...the photographic evidence had been found. The secret that had held me captive for so many years was no longer mine to keep, it was out in the public domain for general consumption...along with that 'normal' life. Whoever said those famous words 'You've got a friend in me' clearly hadn't seen the people in which I had loosely placed that term on. Friends? Enemies? Same difference right? I mean come on, I'd seen their transparency a long time before! Besides...we're all human, surely it won't be too difficult? Will it?
