Linda Bartlett is on guitar and vocals. The late Mark Wedekind produced this recording in November 2019 and added the bass, piano and strings tracks. 
We didn't fix up any of my mistakes or bum notes - it is a raw 'performance'. 
RIP Mark. 
This particular version is minus the drums. I will add another version with the drums later.
Linda performs this, with local brass band members providing the snare drum and the bugle accompaniment every year at the ANZAC service every April 25th in Riwaka and Motueka, NZ

Summer of my dreams - Cover of Dolores Keane song

I have loved music and singing all my life albeit having a soft, quiet voice. Thinking I'd never be able to sing solo, I sang in choirs and small harmony groups. Later I started playing the guitar which provided suitable accompaniment for my own singing – done mostly in private. Eventually when I started teaching ESOL, I decided to use my singing/guitar skills to present song lessons centred around the lyrics. This went down well, and the encouragement of the students gave me much-needed confidence - the thing I think I had lacked the most. 
Fast forward a decade. We moved to Motueka whereupon I determined to sing and play every day. I found music groups and joined jam and walk-up sessions; started performing at charity events; and then eventually Rest Homes, and Anniversary events for friends and family. I even busked a few times. I was fortunate enough to happen across some very talented people along the way, one of whom is David Armstrong who suggested we make a CD of some of my favourite songs. It took me a while to find the time and confidence to get that started. Finally started in 2022, and here we are 2023 – mission complete. I have made a CD with 16 songs. A bucket-list item for me!
