This is a fantastic lecture on Lenin's work What Is To Be Done, and it is a thorough and scathing dissection of those opportunist tendencies that try to worm their way into Leninist Parties. This translation is certain to give listeners a better understanding of Lenin's contributions to Party building. Comrade Ludo Martens passed away in June of 2011 at the age of 65.

Guerrilla Warfare - Ch1, Pt4: Warfare On Favorable Ground

The PSMLS presents a much-needed class on the Hungarian Counter-Revolution of 1956. We’ll be delving into some of the background information of Hungary before and during WW2 with the fascist Horthyite regime, as well as the conditions which led to the 1956 Counter-Revolution after WW2. The class will examine the 1956 counter-revolution itself and the response to it by the USSR, something that is misrepresented by western sources. Lastly, we will draw parallels between this event and more recent events, such as the Euromaidan coup in Ukraine in 2013/2014.

Hungarian Counter-Revolution of 1956 - PSMLS Class

The PSMLS presents a class on the documentary Babi Yar: Lessons of History. This video tells the story of the Babi Yar Massacre, a horrendous event carried out by Fascists in occupied Ukraine at the Babi Yar ravine near Kiev. "Babi Yar: Lessons of History"  dates to the 1970s, and it was released in the West in the 1980s. It was originally produced by Soviet filmmakers through the Ukrainian Studio of TV Films. The film depicts the horrors of the Nazi occupation of Ukraine and the massacre of Jewish people during the Holocaust at Babi Yar, where they were buried in a mass grave outside of Kiev. The film is a historical account of events and warns nations about the dangers of Neo-Nazi ideologies around the world, especially in the United States. The events are told from the perspective of Ukrainian-Jewish poet Vitaly Korotich through voice over that is intertwined with survivor testimonies and archival footage.

Babi Yar Massacre in the Ukraine - PSMLS Class

Bourgeois educational and cultural institutions generally claim that the Molotov-Ribbentrop Non-Aggression Pact was an alliance between Nazi Germany and Soviet Union in their “shared conquest of Europe”. This is categorically false. The Soviet Union understood the threat of Nazism and Fascism early on and spared no effort in building an anti-fascist collective security agreement with the bourgeois democracies of Britain and France in the decade leading up to WWII. Britain and France as well as their allies refused to sign a collective security agreement and instead opted to a policy of appeasement with Hitler. To bide time in order to build up its industrial base, the Soviet Union signed a non-aggression pact with Germany.

The Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact - PSMLS Class

In this class, we read excerpts from the book Fascism and Social Revolution by R. Palme Dutt provided to us by New Outlook Publishers. We will discuss the Communist definition of fascism and what its defining features are. We will also discuss Communist strategies for combating fascism via an organized working class and democratic elements of other social classes as allies in the fight against fascism. As the book was initially written before the 7th Congress of the Communist International in August 1935, we supplement the text with later documents on the subject to reflect the Popular Front analysis after 1935. Rather than looking from the lens of the individual, Soviet art represented the perspective of the collective. Soviet art presents itself as society with the proletariat and farmers that built it. Liberation of Auschwitz - PSMLS Class

On December 1, 1955, Rosa Parks, a black woman, was arrested for refusing to give up her bus seat to a white man. Following the arrest, boycotts lasted over a year in what would be known as the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Montgomery Bus Boycott - PSMLS Class

Before the abolition of slavery in the United States, a complex network of heroic black and white abolitionists was developed to liberate the slave plantations of the South and set the wheel in motion for the dismantling of the chattel slave economy altogether. Bread and Roses Strike - PSMLS Class

March 16th marked the 57th anniversary of the unspeakable My Lai Massacre perpetrated by the United States Army during the Vietnam War. This tragedy saw over 500 civilians including 200 children slaughtered in the most barbaric way. Make no mistake, atrocities in the name of US imperialism like this are not uncommon, this massacre was only the first documented on camera for the American public to see. It galvanized the anti-War movement in the 60s.
