"La vita delle conchiglie" (for 2 performers and amplified ensemble) is the first piece of a cycle that deals with the world hidden inside the shells. The piece, as well as the whole cycle is somehow connected and inspired by a Francis Ponge's poem.
"La vita delle conchiglie" (The life of the shells) was premiered by the Ensemble Phace conducted by Nacho De Paz in the Wiener Konzerthaus on February 2021.

An electroacoustic piece based on a recording of me washing the windows. The voice of the window emerges - and when examined closely and translated into other pitches, the acoustic image can also be a reminder of the vocal worlds of creatures such as those living in deep waters or other possible worlds.

At the end of 2021 I had the chance to spend a few weeks in Grand-Popo, a wonderful small village in Benin, West Africa. When closing my eyes and thinking about those days, memories comes with sounds. Each sounds carry a memory for all the senses. This small collage it's a small journey in between of those sonic memories. This is a little homage to the memories carried through sound.
The inspiration to look back and dig into those sonic memories came from the work done through 'Drum Lab: Rhythms in Nature' led by wonderful Susie Ibarra and Jake Landau.

Cranks and Cactus Needles was inspired by the sound of ancient 78 RPM records, and the pops, scratches, skips, and warps that occur as they deteriorate. As to the title, "Cranks" refers to the crank handles of old record players that had to be wound up before a 78 could be played, and "Cactus Needles" are the sharp cactus spines that were sometimes used as cheap phonograph needles. The musicians are instructed to play the piece "distant and ghostly, like a victrola down the hall", and use uneven vibratos, imperfect repeats, and unpitched scrapes to evoke the decaying music of this anachronistic technology. The piece was commissioned for a premiere at ISCM World Music Days in Luxembourg by the Swedish ensemble "The Pearls Before Swine Experience", and developed with violinist George Kentros.
