“Never See Me Again” displays a spotlight for Kanye West’s mental state, being recorded before his infamous self exile out of the United States.

Leading up to the songs eventual leak, Kanye’s and his now ex-fiancée Alexis Phifer had broken up due to [“citing a conflict with his life on the road”], a year previous his mother Donda West had passed away in November 10, 2007 to heart failure after plastic surgery. Following the upcoming year, heavily intoxicated at the September 2009 VMA’s Kanye West delivered one of his most infamous' speech at the awards show.
