One day, when I wake up, the clouds clear for the day. 

I see you walking all in black, I just didn't know what to say.
Her hair was fair as I stared from my chair, a reflection of her face. I saw through the door, I was in awe. My heart began to race.

She slipped by like a lullaby, gone without a trace. Am I just caught in a dream, or am I in outer space.

Wouldn't it be so special to live each day as our last. We could live in the moment and live life without a care.

I'm just a desperate stranger, watching people pass. Why do I fall in love with every woman who wants to hold my hand.

When she speaks, I'm on my knees praying for the chop. I know that I'll fuck this up again if I tell her all about myself.

All she does is smile as I walk down the aisle of the supermarket store. I'd never judge you for being yourself. I think she means it true.

When I look you in the eye, it makes me wanna try, To be a better man. The days of being down and out. Never to be seen again.

The happier I get. The more that I see. this feeling was unknown. Until she walked in from the cold and perched upon her throne.

Nik Hamby lives in Brisbane, Australia. He plays guitar, bass, drums and sings.

Nik started writing songs in 2019 and began releasing his work in early 2020. His music is lyric-based and has been described as acoustic pop or folk bordering on rock. 

Nik has extensive experience working with young people, including injecting drug users and incarcerated juvenile offenders. His sense of social justice is felt in much of his music. 

Nik’s music has been well received by various social media groups. One of his tracks was included in the podcast “Songwriters and Original Songs” (episode six).

Nik is looking to release his first album later in 2020 and possibly do some live work also.
