Hitting up Tapes #38 we welcome Mother Earth! Bella and Suz are the creators of Mother Earth Sounds, an event and podcast series aimed at promoting gender equality in electronic music whilst having a little bit of fun along the way. They started back in 2019 and have grown an organic following since then, playing alongside some of their favourite artists in the scene including Truly Madly, Gene on Earth, Hamish and Toby, Dan Shake among others. 

This mix is inspired by the sound of summer 2021. After 6 months of festivals, gigs and parties starting up again they've put together the sounds that remind them of a summer they will certainly never forget. Enjoy!

A2 it’s from Russian hero Zots, where he gives his electro breaker version of club music

“snapout”, a Tokyo-based party crew of DJs and Producers, will launch a record label in early 2022.

“snapout” members include veteran DJ yama', who has been DJing since 1998, Takashi Himeoka, who has been making tracks since 2014 and has released on “Phreak” and “Cabaret Recordings” labels, Hisashi, who has played at several regular parties in Tokyo and contributed a track to “How High” label at the end of 2021, and Riku Sugimoto.

For the first single, Riku Sugimoto has created three tracks based on the atmosphere of “snapout”, adopt the essence of Detroit/Dutch techno and Chicago/UK house from the early 90s and early 00s.

Over the last couple of years A:G has gone from strength to strength within our little scene. With releases on Mood waves this year, and a stand out release on EYA a couple years back this man is quickly establishing himself around Europe, and performances at the mighty Hoppetosse only back this statement. His dedication to his craft can also be seen in his own label/podcast Blossy, run by himself and Thorgerdur Johanna. I you haven't already go give their soundcloud a visit, and enjoy some of the brightest talents around tshowcase their sound.
