There are memories that, when they return,
disturb you and a pain begins inside.
When it happens to me, I look at them
and tell myself, what am I going to do?
I only know they don't lead me anywhere,
they just make space and they always cause pain.

Janis Joplin taught me
that with a guitar and a blues,
you could express so much pain,
telling stories of overcoming.

A guitar and many cigarettes
have always accompanied me through life,
my raspy voice didn't matter,
I just sang my pain.

When you live in an environment
where you had to be silent,
we had a military government,
you always had to keep quiet.

I learned how to speak
with blues, rock, and a lot of rage.
In my lyrics, so much longing was stirred up.
They say longing is fear,
I think so; a dead man was always chasing me.

The more severe my mother was,
the more rebellious I was.
I grew up chasing dreams
that no longer exist.

Everything revolved around the United States,
the Argentinian worship of the dollar,
and a class that only looks at Disney World,
and another that hides deep in the interior.

The memories return
and I can't help but compare,
and feel that I'm living
a déjà vu, but with a bad feeling.

I look at them and there's nothing I can do,
I let those memories express themselves,
let them tell everything,
while in the meantime, I take a leap of faith.

I always liked the blues,
it knows how to bring out a blue shine in me,
it gives a meaning to my memories,
and shows me that I always carry a dead man with me.
