This is a original song that I wrote a while back. In this version, I have used some instruments from the Band in a Box for the background track and supplemented those instruments with me playing the bass, electric lead guitar, lead vocals, and two different harmony parts. A good friend and band mate, Darryl H (from "The Cedar River Whalers") helped out on the low harmony for the chorus. Big shout-out to him for his help. Enjoy this latest version of "Morning Star".

Morning Star

A song about Vinton, IA that bills itself as the City of Lights. The picture is a good indication of why is not an idle boast! One evening while driving into town the snow was falling, and this song came tumbling out of that experience. I hope you enjoy it!

This song uses BIAB for the drum loop, but all other instruments are performed by Phil Thomas playing the bass, acoustic guitar, and mandolin on this track. BIAB makes for a really good songwriting tool to provide a starting point for a song, and then you can personalize the song through your own playing.
