WDDS (pronounced 'Woods') returns with his first works of 2023; four, cold, moody, captivating, atmospheric dubstep tracks following a suit of releases on his label Hectare Discs and a stand-out jungle track on EMA's Woozy 2.5 compilation.

The Mancunian draws a wide range of influences, spanning cinematic techno and contemporary film scores, already perking the ears of honourable selectors such as Jossy Mitsu, Mixtress and Mantra.

'Rough Peak' is glitchy and eerie, complimented by a warping baseline and a sinister drone that slowly builds into a peak-time driver.

After a short hiatus at the beginning of 2024, we couldn’t be more excited to return to the digital series with it's fourth addition, courtesy of Newcastle-based Lace Atone.

The vocal sample in the title track, 'Beacon', features snippets of Joe Strummer's iconic wolf-like calls and creatively incorporates his in-between interval breaths from The Clash's post-apocalyptic anthem, 'London's Calling.' With Lace sharing, “The whole 'London is drowning' still resonates and holds true today."

I took a bit of a different direction with this one, and I had a ton of fun writing it.

By the time most of my tracks come out, I've usually been working them on and off over the course of 6 months to a year, sometimes more. This one was different though, it all just fell out of me very recently over a few emotionally-driven weeks, and I knew that I loved it so much that I had to finish it immediately.

It feels to me like the type of track that everyone is either gonna absolutely love or absoutely hate, but I'm probably just overthinking it.
