This week, I worked with Collision, a synthesizer in Live 12 that simulates percussion instruments. Collision uses physical modeling technology to replicate the sound-producing and resonating properties of real or virtual objects.  

That might sound impressive, but in simple terms: you hit something with ‘something else’ to create sound. You can choose from different materials, such as a beam, marimba, string, membrane, plate, pipe, or tube.  

However, I found it challenging to create a rhythmic piece with it. The result is a track with little to no rhythm—a mysterious, somewhat abstract atmosphere. This experiment really shows how instruments can shape the final outcome of a track. In any case, this one turned out very different from my previous works!
