stocks are fallin', profits crawlin'
and you're livin' out your dream
a poor mans orange, pregnancy pausin'
for a moment you could see

hell broke loose
puttin' on that suit
drinkin' from the yolk
laid by mother goose

a frangrance worn with good intentions
but too strong for me to breathe

while we're singing
mothers ringing
better call her back this week

spun the bottle and it landed
in the ocean where we found it
heading for the beach

trick, trick or treat
standin' on the Balcony  
illuminated by the torches
held by parents and their witches

sippin' brandy
throwin' candy
dancin' to the beat

same old story
which one are we
the tortoise or the hare

mind is racing
what are we chasin
playing truth or dare

you say it doesn't matter

pants cuffed, shoes scuffed, shirt stained, 
now you figure the pain is a verdict
delivered by the man in the grey wig
sittin' in a high chair, fed food with a big spoon
held by the liars projecting their voices across the room
 		   
say the F word two times in a row

there's a reason why they don't give away the ending
for the chance that you suckers will believe the sex scene
follow it by reading in between the lines
no system will take this man (or woman) alive 

got into a fight, had a knife held to the neck
in a hypothetical dive bar, talkin to myself with a slack jaw
drool pooling at the feet of my/your uber driver  
"sir, my rating better make it to 5 star"
swap digits, call your insurance agents
clean the mess up, and call your parents

yr 8 was a sick time, I miss it
I was a good kid, I sinched it
paid attention in class, 
and the mrs teachin us the digits
had a way with words that were so explicit
"you cunts better do your homework,
and mind your business"

It was easy but I'm masochistic,
saw the mark but I aimed to miss it

my friends won’t hear him coming

turned pale from the nicotine
the body sways from the beer poured generously
white knuckles knock my front door, and I feel like a stranger

The lights on in the kitchen
tea is made and pills are taken
I check the clock that’s always broken
my pulse, no longer racing, 
I shut my eyes and bend the knee

laces tied, and the dog sighs, but I’m not leaving yet
