Darren Delgado, known to his friends by his professional name Delgado, is a passionate, enthusiastic and hardworking artist from the South West rave scene in the UK. He’s performed as an MC, DJ and is a very keen producer, who has built a reputation in the South West of England that has gained him fans and bookings in and around the area.
Delgado has been a big admirer or rave culture for over 20 years, but it was 2002 when his love of music turned to something more ambitious, when he decided to turn his hand to DJing. Since then his enthusiasm and excitement has grown year on year. Although DJing came first, Delgado started to gain his first success as an MC at local events, after entering a competition for fun. Although he didn’t win the competition, the feedback he received from other entrants and spectators was enough to give him encouragement to take things more seriously, so early on this became his main focus. 
During his time on the mic he emceed for many big name DJ’s, including Sy, Joey Riot, M-Zone and Scorpio to name but a few. But after 7 successful years, Delgado felt a change was due, so decided to hang up the mic to take things back to his roots, to focus on his DJing. 
It was in 2009 Delgado appeared on his first event flyer and that was when things started to take shape. He quickly became known for his eclectic collection of rave and hard dance music, ranging from the lighter sounds of psy-trance, right through to the harder sounds of hard trance, hardstyle, UK hardcore and even the more extreme side of hard music with gabber and Frenchcore. Delgado has always liked to be recognised for taking his listeners on a journey through music, many time across multiple genres in a set, only assuring his fans the energy level will always be high.
As well as a talented MC and DJ, Delgado has more recently ventured into music production. Although he dabbled with this initially around 10 years ago, it’s been the last 3 years where he’s spent more time in this area, learning and developing his unique sound. Just like his DJ performances, he doesn’t like to stick to one genre, but guarantees you will always hear the ‘Delgado’ sound in any of his music.
With a music career spanning over a decade some of Delgado’s notable moments have included being a finalist of the WTTJ MC Competition in 2016 and getting booked at some of the UK’s most prestigious rave club events, including Crash Manor in Plymouth, The Attic in Torquay, and more recently Club Logic in Swansea which has become one of Delgado’s favourite places to perform. On the production front, Delgado’s biggest release was ‘MDMA’ which got to the number 4 position in the Hardcore Heaven Awards in 2013 with over 254k plays on SoundCloud.
Delgado shows no signs of slowing down with plans to take his DJing further afield in the UK, staying busy in the studio, and also picking the mic back up for some select gigs in 2020.
