This is an old tune I learned awhile ago on fiddle and I just added in the guitar backing and guitar counterpoint.

I was really upset to hear that Ed Harsch, longtime keyboard player of The Black Crowes & my favorite band ever, died yesterday.  I have seen this group live more than 40 times over the years and even now not a week goes by where I don't listen to their music.  Not a single show they did live was ever the same, they did some incredible original music and they could cover just about anything, their setlists for all the shows have its own database even.  Eddie Harsch's level of musicality was phenomenal and if you really want to ever get a taste for the emotion, talent and poignancy of his style listen to the Crowes' song called Descending.  It will get to you.   Such an amazing band...  I am no good at keyboards, but this is one of the Black Crowes songs I know how to play on guitar and wanted to do this song in honor of Ed.

This is a catchy song from the 30's we do in sing along group with the residents where I work.  Originally Benny Goodman did a version with Helen Ward singing and later on the Frankie Lymon one was the cover that became most popular later on in the 50's.

Balance (Original)

The Black Crowes are my absolute favorite band ever and I've seen them live more than 40 times.  Each concert was an amazingly unique experience hearing their mastery and variety of styles, as they can cross multiple genres of music and are all talented individuals with a dearth of versatility.  I started working on a cover of 'Seeing Things' from their first album after hearing about longtime band member/keyboardist Ed Hawrysch's passing recently and this is what came of it.

Just sincerely sorry to hear about Chris Cornell this week.  Soundgarden's music was important in my teenage years and I followed all of their music as well as his work with Temple of The Dog and later with Audioslave.  Such a shame.  I always loved the soundtrack to the movie Singles and this was a song Chris Cornell recorded for it.

Seasons- Tribute to Chris Cornell

I lost my best friend Heather last week.  We met in 9th grade and our first conversation we ever had was about music.  We were fast friends and immediately started playing music together and writing music.  I mostly played guitar and Heather sang.  She had the most beautiful, soulful voice.  I remember she would make me sing, too, and she would play guitar but I was so shy about it.  We loved music so much and would listen to everything.  It was incredible sitting in her bedroom with the stereo listening to The Rolling Stones, Humble Pie, The Doors,, The Stooges, Kiss, Faces, Big Mama Thornton, Bessie Smith, Robert Johnson, BB King and so much more, feeling like we were making these incredible discoveries.  We were at each other's house all the time.  Every Saturday night was Headbanger's Ball watching parties and we would spend the days writing music.  We went to so many concerts together over the years.  It was so special.  We stayed close all this time even after she moved away and we both got normal jobs instead of the grand music career we envisioned.  I flew out to Seattle last week for the funeral, despite a paralyzing fear of flying, but so wish I had gone sooner when she used to beg me to come out so she could show me everything about the town.  I'm glad I finally went even though it was too late. 

This song is one we wrote when we were only 15 years old and I recorded it a few years ago using Cubase and added in a violin part.  She was a phenomenal lyricist and it's so fortunate to still have so much of this material.  This is for Heather.

This is a song by George Morgan that a resident where I work and I used to play often.  He was an incredibly gifted guitarist who revered the classic country artists like Ernest Tubb and could pick a tune as good as Chet Atkins.

Candy Kisses

This is a cover of a song by Dailey & Vincent made famous by Gillian Welch.  It has always been a song I listen to a lot around each Easter.

By The Mark

There's a full moon tonight and it reminded me of this song we do at work with residents during the sing alongs.  It came out in 1909 on the vaudeville circuit, was written by Madden and Edwards and was later a big feature during the Ziegfeld Follies revues.

By The Light Of The Silvery Moon

This is a classic Cole Porter tune that I have always enjoyed and I've been listening to a lot of Sinatra lately and decided to cover this.

I'Ve Got You Under My Skin

Was listening to Rod Stewart and thought of this song by the Faces, so I did a cover.  I used a Gretsch Boxcar Resonator for the guitar parts and also did a backing fiddle part.

Ooh La La- Faces Cover

This song by CCR keeps coming up in my Pandora rotation lately and I just felt like doing a version of it.  I've always been so fond of the melody and lyrics to this.

Long As I Can See The Light- CCR Cover

Music fan and hobbyist musician.  I love to listen to everything and there isn't enough time in the world for all the music there is to hear.
