Learn English 61 Vocabulary for your Weight: Fat Cats and Muffin Tops

Learn English 62 "Learn the 100 Most Common English Words and their Grammar" even though you don't need it to speak English sometimes knowing common English grammar can be useful.

For today’s podcast, I thought I would give you something a bit different. Normally, because the idea of Adept English is that you learn through listening, I don’t really go into grammar or the structure of the language very much. But I also realise that many of you are learning English through traditional courses – the ones which do teach you how to read and write English, rather than speaking it. And these courses often focus on grammar – so I thought today that I’d give you a little help understanding English grammar. You don’t really need it to speak the language and be fluent – but you do need it for most English language college courses and a little bit of knowledge goes a long way, so even if you are primarily interested in English conversation, this is still helpful, I think.

Learn English 63 "Have you heard these 5 easy English idioms" In English sometimes you just have to know what the idiom is and learn it. 

Today I thought that we’d do some more idioms. Last week we did some serious grammar and
vocabulary, and in previous weeks I’ve talked about what’s going on in the world, terrorism, a
holiday. It’s good to mix it up – so today, let’s do some more idioms. If you don’t know the word
idiom, it means a saying, something we say in English, which has an extra meaning beyond what the
actual words say. I’m sure you have idioms in your language too.

Learn English 64 "You need Us Not an iPhone App to Know #1 Question When Learning to Speak English." Everyone asks this question, we tell you what it is and we try to answer it. 

This is not a simple question, with a simple answer. All kinds of things will determine. If you’re very young – especially if you’re say, under 8 years old and you come to live in the UK, so that you hear English being spoken all around you all the time, the answer is that you will learn very, very quickly to speak English.
