A friend I knew chose assisted suicide after being diagnosed with terminal cancer (her story was written up in the L.A. Times). Got me thinking of holidays on the calendar (Christmas, Thanksgiving, and the like) and the first time you experience it without someone you love. The time we've been given is indeed brief, and the love we get to experience is precious.

"My Sweet Mythology" deals with how we sometimes entangle ourselves within our own worldview (religion, politics, socio-economic, etc.) to the point where we become myopic. We are trapped in our own "blind spots" if you will. It is only through critical thinking that we can test our thoughts and truly own our own mind.
