This song to me is a calling to that place where you feel completely unrestrained from influence. Whether it be a physical place, or somewhere inward, it's that hidden place only you've been to. Where you can truly let your inner child play. Finding total peace in yourself.   Breathing in that air, and unleashing your energy.

This song is a rework of a song I wrote in may 2020 when the first lockdown hit. It was as though time had completely stopped for me. It was terrifying, yet on the other hand suddenly I had all the time in the world to dedicate to my music, as though the universe said "here you go, use it wisely!" so I took a deep breath, and I did. This song is my 2020 anthem. i hope you enjoy it.

The whole song flowed out of me in a day, on my 33rd birthday. It was a bit of a tower moment for me. I felt so cut off from everyone, but realised I was the only one doing the cutting off. I was closed to the world, and therefore the loneliness I felt was of my own creation. 33 marks the day I turned a wall into a door, and walked through it.

While in Isolation due to Covid-19, I created 'Reverie' by rediscovering all of my instruments and patches after a few years away from the composer seat, and I just played around until I created something I enjoyed. Reverie is the state of being pleasantly lost in one's thoughts, like a daydream, which is exactly what this song was for me at the time.

Isolation, due to Covid-19 has given me a lot of time to reflect on myself, think about my life, and in particular my use of time and what I want to dedicate more of it to. For several years now I’ve neglected my love of writing music, but isolation has presented me with a lot of free time, and the mental headspace to be able be creative again. So. I created ‘Time’, a song that represents what I love doing the most in life.

2020 has shaken humanity to its core. We’ve experienced devastating fires and a worldwide pandemic that have taken so many lives, we’ve witnessed our sisters and our brothers be horribly mistreated for reasons that are blatantly inhuman, taking so many more lives. Many have gone through extreme loss, crippling challenges, new realities, and heartbreak, but we’ve also seen the coming together of communities, friends, and families, uniting for what they believe in and fighting for their right to be human, and to make something better than the mess we’ve made. It’s been a time, and there’s still such a road ahead of us. I’ve learned a lot through this time, and have grown immensely through what my friends have taught and shown me through the battles they’ve faced. I haven’t been as loud as most have been, I’m not great with words like so many of you are, but I have time on my side at the moment, which means I can write music again, which is my language, so I wrote this for all of you who are fighting for your lives out there. It’s called ‘Persevere’. Don’t stop fighting, and don’t be silent. Listen, learn, grow, and love.
