Butter Sessions is one of those labels that can go absolutely anywhere and still make sense because theres an element that tags it down to the ears of Sleep D aka Maryos Syawish and Corey Kikos. The two label heads behind the absolutely iconic institution straight outta Melbourne, Australia have worked with aritsts like Roza Terenzi, D.Tiffany, Tornado Wallace, Yuzo Iwata and more creating a platform for upcoming and solidly established artists to broaden their sound and explore into the unknown. Like the artists they represent Sleep D as DJ's and producers have touched all sides of the club and eclectic spectrum having dropped many anthem filled 12's(including a very solid LP on Anthony Naples' Incienso) as well as experimental outings on labels like Play On Records. 
For Off The Record #37 Syawish and Kikos have dropped us straight into the elements of the main room. A smoke machine filled warehouse of house, techno, bass and percussive club rolling excursions. Strap yourself in(or don't?).

The Leiden based collective is known for hosting one-off listening sessions and club nights that explore all regions of electronic music, going far and wide in selection of acts and music alike. In their DJ sets you can expect the unexpected: they scour the rich depths of sound, illuminating beautiful music to create mesmerizing selections.

Wanderers is a weekly mix series hosted by stopendor. It focusses on the transportive aspect of sound, inviting artists that also have a strong affinity with this aspect to wander the rich plains of sound, in whatever direction they want to go. The goal is to create a diverse, imaginative and adventurous collection of journeys and stories, in which one could get lost and discover endless new things. It also functions as a platform for artists to create and discover in the process of making an episode.

A. Since 2016 when we threw our first little backyard party in Brooklyn and called it Kindergarten ◡̈ ❀ I feel very grateful and lucky to be surrounded by the most amazing, hardworking and cute people in the scene here :')

Juanita's Mix 097: Ma Sha

@le-motel is a film composer, graphic designer and producer who draws on his worldly travels to make richly immersive music. It comes detailed with field recordings from remote locations, visual cues from his design work and a mix of the organic and the synthetic and has mixed up everything from jazz to juke, techno to hip hop. As well as running Maloca Records he has picked up props from Gilles Peterson for an album for New Zealand’s Cosmic Composition, has collaborated with Fuzati on Ombrage Éditions went solo into a breaks, bass and grime fusion on YUKU in summer. 

Now the Kiosk Radio resident arrives in our podcast series with 60 minutes of earth-quaking global rhythms. The tempos are slow to start with but the impact is heavy from off. Lithe minimal drums fizz with dystopian energy and evolve from deep and dubby to broken and intense as Le Motel ramps up the pressure and keeps your body moving in ways only he can.

"Ichinen" was born from the strong connection between Roberto Bosco and Kiny, both founders of Last Drop Records imprint. The style is indeed a unique mix of different approaches and visions. The sudden encounter of these two souls marks a decisive synergy of sounds. Ichinen is determination at its purest form: relentless impulse, constantly striving for the realization of music in order to go beyond the ordinary logic of reality.
In 2016 they returns on their label with "A Morning Without Glory", the first official track under new Ichinen monicker with remixes by Dasha Rush and Etapp Kyle.

Various locations in the city of Leiden set the stage, establishing one-off listening sessions and multidisciplinairy clubnights focusing on live performances. With our DJ-sets we further expand on the sound we like to bring forward, but can easily drift off in different directions.
