American duo Frank Cueto and Rusty Belicek are All Good Funk Alliance, and they're the first international guests for 2024 in the Slow Mo Lounge series, alongside South African, Slow Mo Lounge founder, DJ and event curator, Kongisto.

The All Good Funk Alliance DJs all around the world write songs for commercials, TV and movies and constantly appear on the Breakspoll Top 50 list.

Since 1999, All Good Funk Alliance has released music on a host of labels, including their own heavyweights: Funk Weapons, Super Hi-Fi Recordings and Baffin Island Beat Brigade. Frank and Rusty have played at clubs and festivals around the globe, from Canada to Australia, and the pair have even opened up for the iconic godfather of soul himself, James Brown.

Production credits include Super Hi-Fi, Fort Knox US, Aroma Belgium, Jalapeno, Nettwerk Music Group, Toko, Royal Soul, Defective, Bear, Sunswept US, Funk Weapons US, 8th Dimension, and Butter Music, to name a few.

As usual, very happy to have been able to cook a nice mix of Jamaican / Reggae-related Modern Soul, Funk, Dubby Disco & Soulful gems. A few of them will sound obvious but the mix also contains a handful of really rare & under the radar jamaican gem that I am happy to provide here.

Part 2 of The Unity Agency showcase starts off in familiar dub disco territory with mid tempo tracks from Dead Rose, Daniel Solar & Fingerman but don't be fooled, it's not long before things change up a few gears into deep dance floor house and electronica with new signing Last Mood providing 3 tracks along with a couple from DJ Rocca (under his Ajello production partnership) and Chamboche one of which is a collaboration with his studio buddy Ejeca.

As well as being mixed by Pablo Contraband it features a handful of tracks from his label Delayed Audio, their next 12 is out on Feb 18th

The Unity Agency Showcase pt 2. Feb 2013

I've been absorbed in music since the early 80's listening to electro, soul, Chicago house etc. Discovered funk and disco in the early 90's when away at Uni and have spent the past 20 + years buying back into this amazing music genre. Don't get the time to play out much nowadays but I have DJ'ed at Funkademia in Manchester a few times over the past year or two which is always a top night and great place to play! The older I get the more I seem to appreciate not only the music I have collected, but all of the hidden gems I am discovering through edits posted on either Soundcloud or new releases from one of the many talented producers/ editors currently in the Disco Scene. Big fan of labels such as Disco Deviance, Editorial, Midnight Riot, Editors Kutz, Razor N Tape, Whiskey Disco, Chopshop, Hot Digits etc. In my mixes I try to blend the records as subtly as possible and be respectful to what has already been created.
