A series of teachings from the Bible about Israel called "Why Israel?" by Rev Willem J.J. Glashouwer, President of Christians for Israel International. This series explores the Biblical significance of Israel and the Jewish people for Christians today. It looks at the concepts of replacement theology, election and covenants, and shows that the Bible supports the return of the Jewish people to the land. It challenges the church to embrace and bless the Jewish people and the nation of Israel.

In Why End Times? Rev. Willem J.J. Glashouwer explores God’s prophetic plans for Israel and the nations. This is not another end-time theory but a teaching scholarly grounded on God’s Holy Word. It provides an in-depth analysis concerning the prophetic significance of Israel and her relationship to the nations. This subject is greatly needed to enlighten the Body of Christ and all people to gain a new understanding about what to expect and what to prepare for as the coming of Christ draws closer.

Why End Times? - #1 Signs of the times

Late last month, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich called for a series of measures to strengthen the Jewish state’s hold on Judea and Samaria in response to the Palestinians’ push for unilateral statehood and support for the International Criminal Court case against Israel.

Weekly Update 5 July 2024 -  Are Jews allowed to live in Judea and Samaria?  A call to prayer.

The Jewish new year commenced yesterday on Rosh Hashanah. Rosh Hashanah is the birthday of the universe, the day G‑d created Adam and Eve. It is celebrated as the Jewish New Year. Together with Yom Kippur (which follows 10 days later), it is part of the Yamim Nora'im (Days of Awe).

The Lord is a refuge for His people

Israel is fighting a war on seven fronts for its survival. Its main enemy is the revolutionary regime in Tehran – the radical Shiite Mullahs who hijacked Iran in 1979. Their goal is to destroy the west, and to export their revolutionary Islamic ideology around the world. This regime attacks Israel directly but operates through its many allies and proxies in the region. Its most important proxy is Hezbollah, in Lebanon.

Streams of tears

Today is Holocaust Remembrance Day in Israel - “Yom Hashoah Ve-Hagevurah”, literally the “Day of (Remembrance of) the Holocaust and the Heroism.” It is marked on the 27th day in the month of Nisan — a week after the seventh day of Passover, and a week before Yom Hazikaron (Memorial Day for Israel’s fallen soldiers).

Gaza City; no hostage deal yet;  antisemitism on the rise; lawfare continues

The Israel Defense Forces said on Wednesday night that it now controls roughly 40% of Gaza City after intensifying its ground offensive against Hamas. According to Times of Israel, Israel has intensified in recent days its strikes in the area of Gaza City, in the territory’s north, ahead of the planned offensive, despite mounting international pressure to halt the campaign.

Israel’s war against Hamas is the epicenter of a global war for the heart of our world. It is a spiritual war between the powers of good and evil. 
 
Whether physical or spiritual, an existential attack on Israel is an existential attack on the Jewish roots of our Western civilization.

Israel is leading the battle for the identity of Western civilization

This week marks the 50th anniversary of the UN’s infamous Soviet-inspired “Zionism is a form of racism” resolution (3379) adopted by the General Assembly on 10th November 1975. 

In his famous speech then-US Ambassador to the UN Patrick Moynihan condemned this resolution as “an obscenity”. According to Moynihan, by condemning Israel as a racist state “a great evil has been loosed upon the world”.

Stalemate in Gaza; “Zionism is racism” lives on

Israeli authorities on Thursday morning confirmed that the remains recovered from the Gaza Strip the previous evening belong to murdered Thai national Sudthisak Rinthalak, whose body had been held captive in Gaza since the Oct. 7, 2023, massacre.

One hostage returned, one remains

The Israel Defense Forces recently recovered video footage showing six hostages, who were later murdered in Hamas captivity in the Gaza Strip, lighting candles for Chanukah during the winter of 2023, Ynet reported on Thursday.

Hamas’ cynical cruelty; Palestinian statehood; little progress in Gaza

On December 14, two Islamic gunmen attacked a Hanukkah festival at Bondi beach in Sydney, Australia. Two armed assailants opened fire during a large “Chanukah by the Sea” celebration marking the first night of Hanukkah, killing at least 16 people and wounding 40, including two police officers, according to local authorities.
