This World Of Ours

This is an original instrumental I wrote back in 1986. It has changed and evolved over the years. I played all the guitars, bass, and drums on this track. It started as just a guitar instrumental, but around 2002, I asked my buddy Darren DeWolfe to add a violin melody to my backing track, giving him free reign to come up with whatever his heart desired. Needless to say, he came up with a beautiful melody that perfectly conveyed the feeling and meaning of the song. The song also features a three part harmony guitar solo.   Darren has recently remixed and remastered this track.

As I Sit (and Time Goes By)

An original song I wrote in or around 1998,  and recorded in 2005 . Its a love song to my family to let them know how much they mean to me.  All instruments and vocals by myself.   Mastering by Darren DeWolfe.

I Knew This Day Would Come    (2025)

A few years ago, I decided I wanted to write and record a song thats out of my musical comfort zone. I decided to try something jazz-ish (I'm not a jazz player). So I came up with some jazzy sounding chord progressions, and then headed to Yarmouth to my buddy Darren's place to record the song, with violin contributions from him. It was a true collaboration  in every sense of the word. Is it truly jazz..? ...no... but it's our version of jazz.
  I play the nylon string guitar, electric guitar, and bass guitar on the song, plus added percussion as well. The drums are courtesy of Stephane Lavoie, and of course, Darren plays all violin tracks with production and mastering as well. 
 The song was recorded on Vaughne Ave, and a vamp in musical terms refers to short,repeating passages .Hence the title, Vaughne Ave Vamp.

I am a songwriter and guitarist from Nova Scotia . I perform in a band called Flipside with my wife Carla, and enjoy a songwriting / recording brotherhood with the DeWolfe brothers ( Darren and Laine). All my songs have been recorded in my home studio over the years.
