This experienced healer has worked on THOUSANDS of bodies and told me pain is a language. If we listen to a body in pain and watch for patterns we can "turn deafness into listening and then you can have your epiphanies". Trish answers my questions about Chinese Meridian Theory and how emotions are connected to our internal organs which I found fascinating. If we want to evolve the mind, she said, it requires body evolution as well. Consider what you put ON your body, not just IN it. The skin is our largest organ and it consumes what we feed it. And just to double click on the example she offered about her being a talker (oh - #metoo) but finding a lump in her throat when it came time to uttering words about feelings that might disrupt status-quo… she said: “I was speaking truth dis-embodied and now that I am here, present in my body, having these emotions running through me, I was like - oooh, this feels different. it’s not fun. but the more you do it, like using any muscle, the stronger it gets. so now, I give voice to the hard emotions and I take my time and stop for a breath, and the lump in my throat no longer exists. I had to push through the discomfort to get to the other side!”

Meditation For Mom

I’m sitting in a roomful of strangers in the woods a week after separating from my husband of 15 years. I had only recently met the facilitator, Heather Fantin, she was inviting me to join her for a weekend of healing with a dozen other women I had never met. This episode exposes the emotional wounds of failed partnership and reveals what holds us back from change, even when we so desperately need it.

The backstory:
My journey of unraveling began in late 2016 when I walked away from a 20 year relationship that no longer sparked joy. As anyone who has gone through a divorce knows, these decisions are not easy, they only happen after much hardship is endured. For me, there was no turning back. The day I made the decision to surrender, was the day my life changed forever. I became a seeker. A seeker of my truth. 

This show is dedicated to the individuals I met on this journey whose voices I wanted to amplify in service of others who may find themselves in similar times of transitions. Ending the marriage was step one, the career soon followed. I was left to sit in the discomfort of not knowing what my life was supposed to be about. That curiosity has led me here and I will continue to follow the threads of aliveness that began by first getting to know myself more deeply.
