Astrix (Avi Shmailov) 's musical agenda is the ultimate clash, where underground vs. mainstream transforms to uplifting Trance composed with sophisticated melodies, a sprinkle of progressive House, and some occasional vocals. This audio clash is where Astrix's music have emerged from & been embraced by hundreds of thousands across so many nations and continents. As an incredibly popular DJ and producer, Avi Shmailov, aka Astrix, always thinks ahead how to tailor his sets and productions for his devoted fans, but not forgetting to please the casual dancers. Astrix has been one of the leading trance producers and DJs in the world for more than a decade, carrying his musical message of psychedelic emotional uplifting trance to every corner of the world, to the biggest urban clubs and far away beaches, huge festivals and underground events.

Devoted to his art and a true perfectionist, Astrix is known for his massive hypnotic explosive sets on the dancefloor and for his precise detailed production in the studio. Both always laced with tons of feel and musicality. His music has been topping the charts and his albums are considered milestones.

Astrix fourth studio album, “He.art” will be released early in 2016.

This mix was inspired by a visit to the Amazonian rainforest and its powerful ancient atmosphere. Enjoy!

He began recording music under the name Astrix (sometimes misconcieved to be taken from the "Asterix" comic books. An interview on UK clubbing website Harderfaster.net revealed the name was chosen for simply sounding good, and not directly influenced by anything in particular) in 1997 and has used the name since.

In 2006 Astrix reached #41 (+34 raise) in DJ Mag's "Top 100 DJ's" yearly rank along with raise of several other Israeli musicians (the highest being Infected Mushroom ranked #12) marking significant worldwide popularisation of Israeli electronic music scene. 

In 2007 Astrix reached to #18

Astrix's music is known for his solid, driving basslines and ascending melodies. It is very uplifting and, as far as psychedelic trance goes, fairly "hard" and is also usually played during sunrise and the morning at outdoor trance parties. Many would consider his style to be a crossover between "full-on" and the "clubbier" end of Trance, exemplfied by his Psychedelic Academy Mix
