Been feeling more relaxed today. I'm thinking less of what I lack and more of what I'm fortunate to have. And simply put, I'm just enjoying the freedom to express myself creatively without worry. The vibe of this one makes me feel excitement and hope - akin to having an amazing bonding conversation with someone of the opposite sex.

Lately I've been feeling the urge to get back into shape. I'm not overweight, but I feel it's becoming more of a necessity as I get older. I'm sitting way too much. I know it's bad when I feel the urge to take the elevator instead of taking the stairs. Ironically, the thing really holding me back is my fear of getting sick. The last two times I tried to get back into it, I fell ill. First the Flu and the second time I had a cough that lasted at least a few months. I'm sure it's unrelated, but it's still on my mind.

When it comes to exercising I was never the endurance type, especially since I had asthma - I have since outgrown it. At the peak, I biked 40 miles round trip with a friend of mine. In the past, I used to exercise nonstop for at least 30 minutes with a practical mentality in mind. A mentality of self-defense. So I would work out as if I was preparing for a fight. I remember I would turn on the television and shadowbox / jump rope during the rounds of a boxing match - emulating the feeling of going the distance. I basically did the same exact workouts from when I was in martial arts. I was never really into lifting weights, it was 99% pure body weight exercises. Other than a 25 pound dumbbell and jump rope, I had a pull up bar. I remember I used to gauge my fitness with how many pull ups I could do. If I couldn't do at least 20 pull ups nonstop, I knew I was getting out of shape. I would usually strive for at least 33 pull ups nonstop, my lucky number - I see that number a lot. I would be happy to do half of that at this point in time. Just thinking about it makes me want to get back into it - maybe this weekend.
