Born in NH, Andrew and his friends started a band in High School called GrooveChild (Andrew was the drummer and manager). GC went on to sell 100,000 albums their senior year (1992) and signed a development deal with IRS Records (Concrete Blonde, REM, etc). After High School, Lanoie started playing bass, and joined Harpoon as the bass player, a rock band touring colleges in the NE, and set off on several national tours. In the mid 90’s, Andrew joined Percy Hill, a northeast Jam Band selling out mid/large clubs in many markets around the Northeast (Paradise in Boston, TLA in Philly, Wetlands in NYC, etc). During that time, Andrew was sponsored by Trace Elliot amplifiers. He moved to Los Angeles around 1998 to pursue a career in the music industry, and started working for the William Morris Agency in 1999, where he went on to spend 16 years as a talent agent, representing comedians and artist (Andrew Dice Clay, Tim Allen, Joe Bonamassa, Blue Traveler, Peter Frampton, Gary Clark, Jr, etc). During his interview process at WMA, Lanoie played several times as the bassist for Linkin Park, who just signed a publishing deal with Zomba Publishing. Andrew was the runner up, and William Morris hired him around that same time. Several years later, he and Craig Newman formed Units of Measure, signed to Coach House Records, and released the album “New”. Lanoie and Newman co-wrote and produced the album, and Andrew played guitars and bass. UoM played local in Southern California at venues like House of Blues, Troubadour, Roxy, and opened for Mike Campbell (Tom Petty), America and The Doobie Brothers in their hometown of Saratoga, CA (Mountain Winery). During that time, he started to play bass in HTFU (Happy the Funk Up) based in Encinitas, CA, and regular performing at the Belly Up Club. Jack Johnson opened for HTFU at Belly Up in his early touring days.
