Manchester's very own Nickon Faith is back with a stunning new release on Troubleshoot Recordings. The label’s fourth release, “Visions EP” consists of 3 original Nickon Faith tracks with an additional remix by Jon Selbo that continues to amplify the energy. Having made a name for himself as an exciting and innovative producer with a large back catalogue of releases already under his belt, Nickon continues to add to this with three new tracks showcasing his ability to produce expressive and dynamic dance music.

"Visions" kicks off the EP with its ethereal and otherworldly pads, accompanied by wandering lead lines that keep the listener on their toes. A track that's both captivating and emotive, perfectly setting the tone for the rest of the EP.

Next up is "In Bloom", which features infectious percussion and rapid melodies that showcase Nickon’s talent for creating complex, layered soundscapes. The track is underpinned by a strong pulsating bassline that helps push everything forward.

The third track, "Don't Make Me Wait" blends breakbeats with dreamy vocals, creating a powerful track that's both hypnotic and infectious. Energetic breaks lay the foundation for the rich, expansive chords that flood the track as the vocal floats throughout.

The EP concludes with a high-energy remix of "Don’t Make Me Wait" by label boss Jon Selbo. Selbo brings his own unique flavour to the track, delivering a clubbier and more rave- ready version that is guaranteed to get those early morning dancefloors moving.

Premiere: Adam Beyer 'Valium & LFO's'

Gregor Tresher kicks off 2015 looking to break new soil with his first ever full release for John Digweed's Bedrock Records.   

Last year was as hectic as ever for the Gregor and he came into it on high from the success of his artist album Nightcolours and having closed out 2013 by releasing an astonishing Laurent Garnier remix of the title track, on his own imprint.   Time to relax a little maybe? Not a chance. January saw the remixed version of the album hit the stores and this was backed within a few weeks by 'Taurus', Gregor's enticing collaboration with Petar Dundov. The summer saw him remix the Chymera classic 'Shadowdancer' and he closed 2014 with the superb 'Midas / Disturber' double-header.   

Somewhat of a musical chameleon, Tresher is as at home creating deeper shades of house for the likes of Moon Harbour and Ovum as he is techno rhythms for Music Man, Cocoon and Drumcode.   With label boss Digweed a huge fan, Bedrock is yet another perfect fit for the German and he opens his account with the mighty, melodic and Kraken'esque 'Goliath' and the razor-sharp lightning bolt that is 'Stormblade'.

A great philosopher (Samuel Johnson, not Ebeneezer Goode) once wrote… “our brightest blazes of gladness are commonly kindled by unexpected sparks”. While it would be a stretch to suggest the Drumcode artist roster are closet philosophy fans, once one begins to unravel the tale that led to Jel Ford remixing the 2012 Alan Fitzpatrick hit ‘For An Endless Night’ and it is impossible to escape the unexpected enterprise and spirit of surprise that are at the heart of this exciting collaboration. 

As fans of Adam Beyer’s label will testify, the two Drumcode names have more in common than just a label stable, they also share common ground with the peak-time melodic sound that has delivered many of the labels most memorable output. Ford being a much more recent addition than Fitzpatrick, whose history with the seminal Swedish imprint stretches back to 2009, however Ford’s history within techno goes back even further having released multiple EP’s through the early noughties on vintage UK techno labels including Dave Angel’s Rotation Records, Billy Nasty’s Tortured Records, Primate Recordings and Ford’s own Jericho imprint. 

It is within this shared passion for uplifting synths and big room melodies that the ‘unexpected spark’ of creativity that led to Ford remixing Fitzpatrick can be found. An long-time admirer of Fitzpatrick’s work, Ford had developed an idea for his alternative version and secretly worked on the remix long before any discussion of the project had taken place. Once given the draft version, Fitzpatrick immediately endorsed the remix, excited to have an updated version to breath new life into what had become a familiar staple of his sets for the past two years. Parts were swapped and the end result being the barnstorming end-of-night monster presented here. A track that will be familiar with many having been the subject of much social-media furor since it first surfaced back in Autumn 2014.

Soul Movement

In the late 80s I started listening to UK radio stations when I was a little kid and I instantly fell in love with the acid sound and rave movement that was portrayed on those UK dance shows. When I got old enough to attend clubs and warehouse raves, to experience the movement first hand, it was a no- brainer for me that the music and the lifestyle was my call.
Lately.... in my dj sets and when producing music... I have been time travelling back to those days. Back to how I remember the music I fell so deeply in love with and that is exactly what you hear on this “Done/Undone” release.
For the “Done” track I teamed up with Cari Golden to have a female spoken word and a great message to build the music around.
I always prefer to do original vocal recordings rather than using samples. Cari understood 100% what I was after and I love the lyrics and execution by her.
The spoken word is centered, very clear and deep to contrast the constantly building intensity of the acid patterns and thumping beats.

This is my take on the sound I fell in love with years ago and obviously still love today. I hope you like what you hear.
