After his debut on OTW last year, Manny-based producer System 1 has come on leaps and bounds since 'Dreadnought', which received a huge array of both online & club support from across the scene. When the chance came to sign an EP from the up-and-coming don, we had to jump on it and it's clear to see why. The lead track, 'Retract', kicks us off nicely, manoeuvring down that dark, minimal avenue that System 1 has really made his own recently, reeling off startling, haunting atmospherics and sharp, scintillating percs, both fused perfectly with those evil bass tones. On the B-side, 'Everything' takes the form of a stone-cold roller, focused on getting the feet tapping and head firmly bopping; you can tell it's grotty from that first note. This is another huge drop from System, firmly cementing his place as one of the most exciting new skool producers on the 174 spectrum.
