Soothing instrumentation from my electric dulcimer under the influence of lush reverb.  Very slow tempo with sustained drone tones and chords that drift in and out of focus.  Minimalistic with limited musical ideas - that keeps things vague.  Atmospheric textural depth - rich sounds from reverb providing a sense of space, distance, depth, and vastness.  Slow evolution - gradual changes in sound allow listener to listen deeply and enter into a relaxed state.

This piece was based on the 8 chord progression from "I Will Survive."  Chords/lyrics were created by Freddie Perren and Dino Fekaris.  The song was performed by Gloria Gaynor.  The lyrics convey moving on finding strength/resilience after hardship - especially following a difficult breakup.  "I Will Survive" was released in 1978 and became an iconic disco anthem.

The chords are a classic disco chord progression and "I Will Survive" was recorded at 117 BPM.

I've taken this chord progression and slowed it way down to 50 BPM and lengthened the time for each chord.  My ambient drone track reminds me of how fog moves at the ocean.  What does it remind you of?
