Having trouble sleeping? You're in need of ASMR crumples, repetitive ringing and a dreamy selection of weird and wonderfully mundane samples, vacuum-packed into one handy mix from Lung Dart. Fresh from soundtracking Simone Rocha’s AW15 show, the London duo were keen to help you all find inner peace through sleep, with their own brand of sedated experimental pop. For more magic, Tim and James' debut EP, Ebbs, is out on 27th April via Happy Valley Records and full of twisted sax samples and sad vocals that're hard not to pout to.

Based in London the singular sounds of Lung Dart have resonated with a niche yet heavily engaged audience.

Blending weirdo ambience alongside dusty bass and beyond they have crafted a place for themselves amidst the sprawling, monster of a city. Their music is as much a soundtrack for the dystopian city as it is for individual listening. This is something which translates well beyond their own productions and into their spectacularly crafted mixes, which you are about to discover all for yourself. 

We have long since been fans of the duo. It is a pleasure to have them contribute a truly original mix to the alternative series.

Lung Dart: The Wednesday Alternative Mix

Lung Dart is the moniker of experimental duo and NTS Radio residents Tim Clay and James Rapson. Known for their ambient excursions on labels like Scent and Happy Valley, as well as their close affiliation with Moshi Moshi sub-label PRAH, the duo beautifully pair live instrumentation with recorded samples and rich vocals. 

As a way to continue improvising together remotely during the lock down restrictions, they recently created Pulls, a six-track EP of audio collages made by pulling pre-existing unrelated instrument or sound recordings into empty Logic projects and arranging them on the fly. 

To complement the release they've put together a mix of improvised music to ease us into Bank Holiday Monday...
